How would you compare the Boise area with Coeur d'Alene?

Good question! Both are great in their own ways. Boise, as the capital and largest city of Idaho, offers a more urban environment, with a larger variety of activities, concerts and cultural events. For retirees who travel often, Boise’s centrally located airport proves to be very convenient.
Coeur d'Alene, on the other hand, is known for its incredibly picturesque and just all-around beautiful setting on the lake. It’s got more of a small-town feel with plenty of outdoor activities like boating, hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains (which are also readily accessible for those living in Boise).
We often hear from retirees (or soon-to-be retirees) who are debating between the two. The biggest determining factors usually come down to winters, lifestyle preference and traveling cadence (✈️). CDA’s location (being so far north) means their winters are a bit longer and more challenging for some (compared to what we experience in Boise). That said, CDA really is incredible. If you were to decide to look further into it, we have a fantastic referral team up there that I would be happy to connect you with. Based on the info you’ve provided through your comments, I think you would click very well with them! We have often been told they are our north Idaho doppelgängers. 🙂
Last, if you haven’t yet had a chance to see it, here’s a video in which we walk through 5 cities across Idaho that are currently experiencing heightened relocation rates (CDA is included): th-cam.com/video/gDOnAwiK82Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qH2SuW6PD3Lrm1Ix

@@Livinginboiseidaho-candid It's appealing that Boise winters are usually above freezing so that the snow doesn't linger like it can here in Alberta, although even here it can melt off but only from time to time because of El Niño and the Chinook winds.....Snow can be a challenge for mobility for older folks..... 😄
