- Marines with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines have been fighting the Taliban throughout Afghanistan's Sangin Valley for three months. They experience enemy contact almost daily and have gained tremendous ground. In a recent operation, Marines and Afghan soldiers fought through an enemy ambush and built a new patrol base. Marines continue to work with Afghan security forces and Afghan government authorities in the area. Video by Cpl. Daniel Blatter
Looking good 3/5. You guys had one of the hardest offensives in the war. I remember seeing you guys come into Dwyer with brand new FROG gear as we were leaving. I kept up with you guys and read about all the sacrifices you made in Sangin. Dont forget, 3/7 paved the way for you guys. I had some good friends that were WIA before you guys came on deck. @timgoat556 There's a feature on alot of cameras called 'zoom.' This is where a camera can see from really, really far away. This allows the camera to record footage from a safe distant, however theres a sacrifice in picture quality. And please don't reply with the 'camera can see that far away' with all our advances in technology!

@klm607 we dont have Blackhawks like the Army, we just keep on upgrading hueys. Same thing with the huey cobras.
I find most of these comments absurd. These are real Marines, in a real fight. AND, most of them will tell you it's not "fun" - nor something to aspire to do - it is rather their "duty." They are the best at it. To become a Marine you have to adhere to an honor code as well. The crassness of these comments is not befitting to the Corps. Just sayin.

@madamadam158 Its actually a formation to provide a steady stream of fire onto an enemy position therefore keeping the opposing force from firing back or even moving out of cover.
This is reality, not your xbox. Way too much call of duty kid.

@Guyver89 I don't own a games console. I agree, there can be long range fights but with assault rifles? Doesn't even look like their trying to advance. Your arguement is based on opinion e.g. troops caring for reporters and the talibans morals. I don't know much about WW2 footage, however I will look into it.
