Thanks for the vid! I'm about to order the parts... read all the forums.... one thing I notice is you tightened the motor before doing the alignment and so forth. Threads seem to suggest the motor screws need to be loose when you do the alignment - Im not clean on when you tension the motor/belt in relation to clamp/seat and tightening the burr carrier down. Seems to me you get the belt tension in the right range while clamped - then tighten that and then tighten the burr down.

Can you please explain how I can get into the “scale calibration mode” on my Baratza Vario Forte model 1085? I just replaced the display from the original factory to the newer display.

My lever arms do not bounce

Hey, I could really use some help. I opened my vario to troubleshoot it, and my levers don't have the bounce that you show in your video. And when the assembly is right-side-up, if I LIFT the bottom burr using the levers, then lower the levers back down, the bottom burr doesn't come back down, it just gets stuck in that high position! This basically means the machine gets stuck in the super fine position, unless use my finger to push the bottom burr assembly back down. Anyone know what could be causing that?

I tried to do the alignment yesterday on my fortefied Mahlkönig Vario and found the same issues... only when I turned the motor by hand and lowered the burr with the levers I could clearly see and hear that it is moving away from the upper burr again. I cleaned the shaft and the brass bushings, which made things a bit smoother, but not perfect. My levers also don't have that bounce and my adjustment plate seems super loose, no idea if it has to be that way. Eventually I got a 50% wiping on the burr..might try it again in the next few days
