@@DanV900 dr. Doom is a bigger name then Kang. And Kang dynasty wouldn't even be the end of the multiverse saga. He would be so dragged down having him for that long. I mean this phase just started and it takes a decent amount of years to get to the next phases. Kang dynasty was already announce in the up coming years. The multiverse sage is probably gonna last til at least the end of this decade if not way more. So yes I believe Dr doom who had a very famous multiverse comic will become the main bad. No it doesn't have any merit but meither does Kang lasting that long.and I'm not saying Kang isn't the main villain of secret wars I'm just saying the multiverse saga will go beyond secret wars.

      @DanV900 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@cngotham4111 Secret Wars is the end of the Multiverse Saga since Phase 4-6 is all of it which isn’t breaking news. Feige literally said it. Dr. Doom being a bigger name means nothing and it’s not dragging it out. Thanos essentially had one full movie and part of another one. Dr. Doom isn’t getting introduced in Fantastic Four and then suddenly becoming the big bad in the last movie of a saga. Doom in Hickman’s Secret Wars gained the power of a god to create Battle World and remake everything how he wanted. The rumors are insane for Secret Wars and one said the Beyonder is another Kang variant which is more believable than Doom becoming the big bad even though both are nonsensical.

I just watched this movie and I honestly think all the bad reviews are just from MCU fatigue as I found this film much much better than the phase 4 films. I actually loved Kang as a villain and of course there are gonna be plot holes as it’s a comic book movie. The one thing that didn’t make sense to me was how Kang was so tech savvy and a genius but doesn’t know how to make pym particles by now when even Darren Cross was able to work the particles for his own experiments but I don’t know why there is so much hate for this movie. It did exactly what I wanted it to and more by introducing Kang as the next big bad that is extremely menacing and a huge threat to the multiverse while giving us a sci-fi epic exploring the quantum realm in new ways while setting up the next phase of the MCU without it feeling like a giant infomercial for the future of the universe. I actually think that people who know about Kang as a character through reading comics will have thoroughly enjoyed this film and only those who don’t understand Kang as a villain will find this film negatively because they simply don’t understand him as a character and the level of danger he poses to the greater universe/reality/multiverse, etc. as for the mid credit scenes, it was no different than the thanos scenes we got in avengers 1 and 2. It did it’s job in setting up the council of kangs and was accurate to the comics. I don’t know what you expect when one person is portraying infinite amounts of alternate versions of himself but Jonathan majors did an amazing job doing so. If you are a true fan of Marvel comics and the MCU, then I don’t see why you find this film as bad as some reviews are giving it as it was perfectly paced and did a wonderful job introducing us to new settings and characters.

This is why I’m getting tired of the MCU. It’s connectivity aspect, at its genesis was sweet, but now its become it’s greatest flaw. If you spend more time building towards some far flung destination film and do it at the expense of the story of the movie people are sitting down to watch now, then that is a Huge problem.
I hope James Gunn takes note of this while building his DCU. You can have connectivity in your universe, but don’t do it at the expense of telling a good singular story that everyone can enjoy and appreciate without feeling like they sat down to watch part 6 of a 30 part story and feel lost and confused the whole time. I don’t care about Kang Dynasty right now. Tell me a great Ant-Man story now and I’ll worry about Kang Dynasty when that movie comes out.

So I am sad to hear that you guys immediately got the impression this guy is no threat to the real established powerhouses in the MCU. To be fair, Scarlett Witch was powerful enough to defeat all of the Avengers and Thanos by herself. But the writing for her character has been all over the place in terms of special powers, abilities and when they're used.

I love ant man but I’m worried that it’s not an ant man movie but a semi avengers movie or a avengers set up movie. Also I think having ant man fight kang so early is a very poor choice and may cause many problems
Thanos was the main villain you saw him in guardians but he was just sitting there menacingly
Edit: thanks for a very honest review look a little skeptic on seeing it but I’ll watch it

Kang is a badass . I saw it twice tonight . I kept thinking how is the Avengers going to stop Kang. I'm tired people shitting on the MCU just be grateful we have a MCU. First time I saw it I gave it a 8 . 2nd time 8 1/2 it was really good not great but good.

I'm glad you were honest about Kang, I kind of picked on that with the trailers, its like they were trying to convince us he was a big threat but they never showed us anything that back that up.

There's a reason why Thanos never fought anyone until avengers it's cause if he's supposed to be that bad and menacing how could one hero beat him or even go the distance. And now kang is against maybe the weakest hero in the MCU one on one? Unless he kills lang it's a waste of time

I dont think I've ever agreed more with you guys on every point you made. Whole movie felt slight off, writing didn't work, cgi was iffy at the start. It felt like they just wanted everyone to constantly do super hero poses. Nobody struggled, there were no character connections, everyone was just posing, punching or running for a bit, then posing again.

Honestly the whole idea of Kang has never been threatening to me. I always knew him as Blaster guy from Earth’s mightiest heroes.
If Marvel don’t do something new with this guy, be ready for a really shit Avengers movie 😂

Exactly. The endless variant gimmick is going to get tired quick. All it does is cheapen a hero's victory when he defeats one Kang only to have another one show up in the next movie. It gives the writers an easy way out. I know they kind of did that once (key word) with Thanos, which didn't sit 100% well with me, but at least Thanos was an interesting enough character that I could let it slide.

This is exactly what I have been saying about Kang before the film came out. Why introduce him in a movie that will only undercut his threat level by putting him against arguably the most non- threatening hero. Typical hollywood, they gonna end up screwing themselves over by keeping their biases.

He would need to kill all of them for it to be worth using him in this movie but that’s obviously not what happens.

I always appreciate the both of you to be brutally honest. I value your opinions too. But to me this was pretty dope movie. I really liked it

I have to say I am very surprised with this reaction. After listening to your review, it sounds like your expectations aren’t just for a good movie. You’re expecting some type of enormous revelations in just one movie, all questions answered.

I really think MCU should slow down a bit to get right story ideas. Bad writing and fast production are two major issues. Also, I hate that they are recently trying to make runtime within 2 hours.
