What a challenging hike, made more difficult by the lack of signage, water etc. etc. Tough hike with some sketchy sections. Good thing it wasn't hotter out there and you might have been in more trouble with dehydration etc.. Thank you for sharing it with us and showing us the mistakes to avoid and adding the extra written comments! That helps tremendously. The whole area looked like you might be coming across a "rattlesnake" anytime! Thank you for taking the time to edit and then post this hike! Awesome work--like always. Your #1 TN fans!

Another awesome Colorado destination that I didn't know existed and now is on my list of hikes to do ... Thanks Nick

Thanks Craig! There is also the Rattlesnake Trailhead that is much much closer. It involves a bunch of driving on dirt roads though. Plus you can get up on top of the arches too. I was just too gassed out to get up there.

That was a tough one. I have never drank that much water on a hike before.

I was there yesterday and the lanyard with the talkie-talkie is still on the trailhead kiosk - seen at 0:43.

I was thinking about going to Rattlesnake Arches, but given it was full sun and high temp 90F+, I just did the Flume Loop and Inner Flume out-and-back, 8 miles total. The trail split for that is seen at 1:10. Still a lot of fun.

Nice videos , crystal clear and good for what I am searching in such videos about abnormalities in mountains...for example here at 6:17 that carving inside that rock is not natural and at 6:19 barely visible are 3 faces on that rock from way distant ancient time, faded and eroded by pass of time

awesome. I know this area pretty well. That's as good as it gets on the weather. The last time I was there it was 102. I spent the whole day taking breaks and taking pictures

I cant even imagine 102 with that dryness. Thats borderline dangerous! I could not believe how fast I drank up all my water and it was not even near thst hot. Awesome hike though. Wish I would have had the energy to go on top, but maybe next time.

    Great/challenging hike video!!
Sketchy with the demand for fluid intake!
How did the Rooftop Sparrow Nest perform?

It was a tough hike! And it wasnt even hot out there. I cant imagine doing that in the heat of summer. But the tent did awesome! I found some dispersed camping sites in BLM land and it worked perfectly. Couldnt be happier with how it performs. I got some really good sleep. The whole trip was kinda unorganized so I didnt do a tent vid. But Im thinking of doing another soon now that Im getting the hang of it.

Great narration, as usual, Nick. Why do you suppose you got the shivers, though? That seemed kind of unusual for the circumstances.

Thanks John! I think I just got dehydrated and stopped sweating. But I dont know. Thats the most water I have ever drank on a hike. I drank at least 160 ounces on the hike and probably another 60 when got back to the car. And it wasnt even hot out there!

Enjoyed this one. That’s some sketchy water there. Did you ever got sick after using lifestraw to drink questionable water? If not it really shows how effective that straw is. I used it in the Boulder Field when I climbed Longs but that water was much cleaner. The old homestretch butt scoops came in handy for that white rock section

Thanks Jun. No issues from the water! The lifestraw has saved me more times than I can count. Sometimes that clean, cold mountain water like in the boulderfield tastes better than the water I bring in the camelbak.

I can't remember if it was this one or the Mount Garfield one (or both?), but you mentioned microdosing. Do you care to explain or is that something you can't?
