I LOVE NIN! I have been listening to them since I was a young kid and I am 28 now. Over the years their music has remained OUTSTANDING and continues to transform while holding on to their original sound. I look forward to many more songs from them!
Maybe not drugs, but so many artist use drugs, it seems that a desire for imaginary (or temporary, or new) versions/forms/tunnels/paths of reality is more prolific among artists and this need seems to be what helps harbor and gestate their creations too.
You just mentioned my favorite musician (Devin Townsend), plus a band that I've been growing to love more and more (Gojira), on a video of another of my favorite bands/musicians (NIN/Trent Reznor). I'm not exactly sure why that's awesome, but it is, so thank you.
Another great song, I will always love NIN and Trent. Really enjoying this song good beat, good lyrics. Sometimes I do miss some of his older stuff, a lot darker but I like his new stuff as well.
I like it Trent is sort of heading back to his roots a bit...but its not early enough....would like him to revisit his pretty hate machine days again... Would like to see how he would have done Pretty Hate Machine if he did it now
i would agree it does sound similar to the older stuff........but i would also agree there is a change in the sound.......perhaps less darker......maybe even a little oh whats the word? reflection
ok so im super stoked about nine inch nails coming back and im not going to miss a show and im going to buy the album but id just like to point out that the guitar sounds recycled but the song still sounds great
Yeah, it's like Rob Zombie. That man doesn't drink, do drugs, and has been faithful to his wife since the beginning of his career and yet look at the bizarre wonderful music and image he has created.
not everyone? surely there are people who dont.......are there not laws that try to prevent sale and use? thats what makes it taboo right? and they are not dumb, they are just curious to know what goes on in a famous, exotic lifestyle. i mean your alien picture for example........do you not have curiosity in the unknown? there are tons of people out there who call it dumb, but i say nice job keeping an open mind...........hit me up
Rob Zombie is not for everybody. And most people need some sort of perturbation of the mind in order to see something from a different point of view. Such as drugs, painful traumatic experience, starvation, meditation etc. Many great artists have created some of their best works while 'under the influence' of something.
(very nice list and yeah nin should be on this list.......some of the music does feel the way this looks, you think they know something we dont? lol lol lol lolCeltic Frost: TherionMagma: Lake & Palmer: Brain Salad Surgery Steve Stevens' Atomic PlayboysMylène Farmer: Clepsydra: Carcass: Heartwork Danzig: Danzig III: How the Gods KillDead Kennedys' FrankenchristAtrocity - Black Sun SHINE Jonathan Daviscommissioned Giger to design microphone stand, MylèneFarmer's . is the music really bizarre? i mean define normal? would you be bizarre for listening or i ? and no i would think drugs only help when thats what the music calls for, for instance the doors? was that music defined by his action and singing on drugs? perhaps he could only reach that level on drugs and the people knew it and loved it? all good questions and many answers(or opinions). even g.washington im sure smoked a little refer and was a president. would like to hear more thoughts onit
exactly, thank science someone agrees and jim jones.. I don't have a boyfriend are you applying for the position? It's legal now dude. I'll take you to dinner, slap a ring on that finger. Ya feel me?

To the people saying it sounds the same as other songs, most of their music sounds the same so its no real suprise. NIN rocks I'm stoked for this!

It wasn't drugs that shaped Trent's music, it was his depression.

Rejoice, motherfuckers! NIN has returned!
Devin Townsend and Gojira should be perfect examples of this statement.

Drugs don't help artist's make good music. When will people realize this?
I hate to say this but you're wrong.
wow...he was way better when he was on drugs....
Wow....this song is just....horrible. Still a fan, just hope the whole album isn't like this.
I guess NIN can tour with zombie, puddle of mud, van halen, buckcherry, and all the other shitty bands.. This is freakin terrible.
This is gay. As in happy.
