Anyone elected into office should be forced to live off minimum wage until their term is over.

Notice how they always say a family of 4? Well less than 15 million Canadians are in families with children, and how many of those are a family of 4? Notice how they never say 80% of Canadians are getting more back, it's always 80% of families of 4.

Know lots of folks receiving the rebate, if you are a resident of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island and file your taxes every year and have not received yours, I would be following up with CRA immediately.
So if 80% of Canadians are getting more back then it is really a new welfare program by the Lieberal cartel to buy Canadian votes and really has nothing to do with the environment.

A friend of mine got a carbon tax rebate of $200.
Another friend of mine who is an accountant of 10+ years says the carbon tax rebate is generally around this amount.
Justin says 8 out of 10 families get more back than what they pay.
The idea is that carbon tax already accounts for ~65c of gas prices at the pump.
It just went up another 14 cents.
Which brings us to 79 cents give or take.
Which means 44.13% of what I paid at the pump today is from carbon tax.
I pay at least $80 to fill up at the pump, and do it 4 times a month.
$80 x 4 = $320
44.13% of $320 is: $141.21
Please explain to me how 8 out of 10 families are getting more money back when the rebate barely covers a single month of gas. This isn't even factoring in how carbon tax impacts the cost of supply chains, or every other person who drives a car or truck to provide a paid service.
I guess 8 out of 10 families just don't own cars? It doesn't make sense.

I would do a follow up with CRA questioning why you are not eligible, the rebate is a tax-free quarterly payment for residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, as long as you do your taxes every year.

I figured when the carbon tax went up, it cost me tye price of a meal for my family. I figure the gas increase overnight probably costing me the equivilant of 2 home meals. There are so many things that could be done to actually help the planet, nobody wants to hear about it.

The argument that the average person gets more back in a carbon tax credit is complete bullshit. Once you calculate the added cost because of the tax on EVERYTHING we purchase, AND what the conglomerate corporate monopolies gouge us all .... I guarantee you WE are ALL paying MORE.
