A Nigerian man is raised, socialised, and oriented to be charge-taking and a provider in a relationship or marriage, whether he is a billionaire or peasant. That explains why they work very hard. So, it's ridiculous to suggest that they take care of their women because they make money fraudulently. Nothing can be farther from the truth! Just like you noted, west African men work to provide for women, while East African women travel to work to provide for men. The hue and cry about "Nigerian men snatching East African women from their men" points to one fact: west African men tend to treat women far better than men in other African countries, not just East African men. And it's now common knowledge, not just among East Africans. Granted, there are always exceptions.
By the way, I've been married to a Kenyan woman for 6 years, with 2 kids. I hear and see what goes on between East African couples that I know.

Our women in West Africa does not appreciate us. Hardly you see West Africa women going after other African men especially East Africa. A friend of mine married an Uganda lady. The father of my friend carry her like egg so that she will not miss her parents.

While this show is informative, I feel a bit of negativity from the Kenyan guy towards Nigerians. In his assertions, women need attentions and pampering. He also admitted that west African guys are naturally a provider. But before highlighting on the fact that west African guys ( I speak for Nigerian guys) orientarions are different towards life in it's entirety. Nigerian men are hardworking with persistent quest for success, while theire are some bad eggs amongst us, these ones should not be used as the reasons while west African men have money. Culture I think have a lot to do in this scenerio. Nigerian men are borne and groomed to seek success and excellence in their endeavors. Nigeria social orientation is fueled by class system where you measure your growth against your immediate family members, your cousin, neighbors e.t.c . Consequently, we frown at failure and that is why Nigerians are at top pinnacle of success where ever they found themselves. The lesson here is for men from east African to quit the laid-back attitude and reorient their social view that women are flowers that needs tilling and pampering as oppose to sex and money making machines. I have female family members that are highly successful but I will be dammed if any of them bring home a good for nothing guy
