For me, this was solidified in the 'Seven Year Witch' episode when Phoebe senses Cole despite them being on separate planes. They had such a deep physical and emotional connection with each other and to hear Alyssa talk about the ending she wishes Phoebe had with Cole is amazing but also heart-wrenching.

I have to believe in my heart that, the only reason they brought us coop was that They needed a c name (and yes i know an apple peel doesnt turn into many letters) and with julian having left/been leaving charmed before the show ended, there was only so much they could do.
Agreed. I felt like his appearance in S7 could easily have sown the seeds for a S8 return where Phoebe and the sisters are forced admit their own wrongdoings and learning how Cole became the Source to protect them.
Especially since the Source did appear in S8 and was needlessly easily vanquished. If his appearance at least gave way for the Charmed Ones to realize that they were wrong to treat Cole the way they did... But oh well, that would require Charmed to have competent writers in the later seasons

I might have been able to like him if we had gotten to know him, but we barely got time with him. Her other boyfriends at least had personalities.

Ha! I love this. I always felt like the writers did Cole's character dirty. Him and Phoebe not ending up together, I could live with, but I was disappointed with how they took all the development of Cole's character and flushed it down the toilet after he became the Source. I felt like they really glossed over the fact that becoming the Source was not something Cole chose. It wasn't some personal or moral failing that caused his downfall, but a cruel twist of fate, brought on by his desire to protect Phoebe and her sisters, that made him spiral. I guess maybe the writers just didn't know what to do with him after making him mortal, so they decided they had to make him go full-blown evil. Still makes me a little sad though.
I still believe Cole and Phoebe was the original plan; I don’t know what made the writers ruin Cole only to bring him back and set up a redemption arc that never went anywhere but yeah. Cole was always meant to be Phoebe’s destined true love and soulmate. If Piper and Leo could make it work and have an all-powerful magical family that goes against all the “rules,” I don’t see how Phoebe and Cole’s relationship had to be doomed. Old Phoebe even sacrificed herself for him when he was already possessed by the Source.
It’s so amazing to finally hear this from someone who was a part of it. For the longest time, I was so frustrated that they didn’t end up together. There’s actually a more recent couple that was VERY similar and on a very similar show who also didn’t end up together. And what really irks me is that everyone from the actors to the writers and show runners either say it was the right thing that they didn’t ended up together or that the ending was just fine. They take the politically correct route and call it a “toxic” relationship. Which is something that is said of Phoebe and Cole. Drives me nuts. Sure, those kinds of relationships are full of challenges and volatile emotions but they’re the most passionate and they stay with us forever. And the alternative is that the characters end up with the boring “healthy” person and there’s really nothing special there.
But deep down inside, everyone is looking for the boring, healthy person. Even if they don't admit that, because at the end of the day we all want someone there and not the one that runs away.
I am so glad, Alyssa and Julian reunited for a convention in Paris last month. Yes, this video is must see for fans to hear Alyssa tell fans how much she honestly supports Phoebe and Cole as a couple.
I lot of people have so much faith in Cole and want Phoebe to take him back. When you date a Cole like I have you understand why she was cold to him and didn't forgive him. Cole had to many chances. When you keep trying to help change people it gets tiring and at one point you have to give up and let go. You can't change people have to want to change. He could have told the sister's many times what was going on but he didn't. He could have done right and make amends when he got out of the waste lands but no instead he became evil again and went after Phoebe and the sisters. He just wouldn't leave her alone after she told him many times that she didn't want nothing to do with him. The only thing that stopped him was for the sister to vanquish him. I'm so glad the writers made it this way to let people know that they can escape from toxic relationships. I'm glad that she ended up with Coop because he was the better man.

I have to agree with alyssa, not only him being the ultimate bad boy. But the relationship between her and cole just felt more genuine and real, inspite of how toxic it was. Blame the writers for that. They had something good when he became an ally fighting with the charmed ones. All to prove to phoebe and his sisters he can be good whether he had his powers or when lost them. Bottom line phoebe and cole was just more believable and better.
Glad to see that she think of phoebe and cole like everyone else do. They were best couple . I watched many shows and movies,but never seen such chemistry betveen actors. Like they were realy in love 👏 and Cole is beat character in show ,no doubt. After his final death,i stoped watching the show.

However, when they had a Charmed reunion with the majority of the cast mates, I think Alyssa and Julian did not attend which was probably for the best since Shannen and Rose do not like Alyssa. Also, Shannen and Julian had a fling in the early 2000’s which might be awkward idk
never said anything about AM and JM hating each other..what I said, is that he disliked her...she was in fact after him at one point...and please don't rush to tell me that each of the two had relationships with other cast members, (as if I would not already know) because that is irrelevant to my point..the fact that both attend a Comicon or other event 15+ years later is also immaterial- they mostly attend such things for same reason they were working on show together, because, regardless of who likes or does not like who, ie they were collecting cheques.. @@sweetcupcake408
To be honest, I thought she had way more chemistry with the original Cupid in Heartbreak City. I would have bought the concept of Coop more if it was the original one. Not only since they have more chemistry, but at least if they quickly got together it would have been less jarring since technically had met also in the past.

Cole was more expy Spike rather than Angel. Angelus was an unredeemable vampire before being cursed with a soul against his will. That's why the contrast between Angel and Angelus is jarring. Meanwhile Spike already showed signs of humanity and altruism while still being a soulless vampire and repentance was his own choice. Cole as Belthazor was still trying to save his human father and joined the forces of good while still being a half demon. While I consider Charmed as a show weaker than Buffy and Angel, Cole was a more interesting character than Angel.
