love to watch the old videos of you and your dad doing the old trails and i think its pretty special that you have your dad with you along for the ride
I gotta say this series for your dad is epic! The love of family, enjoying the outdoors is why i watch your channel! Cheers from Southern California USA 🇺🇸 ❤
These videos and memories are priceless Colt. Holy Cross to me was my favorite trail we were able to accomplish in 24’ when we were there. It hopefully showed my boys that as a team we can accomplish anything if they work as a team. I can’t wait for the day to hopefully go back with them in their own rigs. Thanks for sharing such precious memories with us all. God bless and peace upon your family knowing he can be seen again someday.
We have SOOOO many memories running Holy Cross! It was the first major wheeling trip my husband took me on right before we got married. We were able to recognize the rock our friend rolled on, the rock that took out both passenger doors on our Wagoneer, the pull off area we fixed tires multiple times, and the rock I liked to sit on at the creek crossing to get some good pictures. We only made it to the very end one time, but always made it to the city at lunchtime. Loved seeing your old photos because that's how we will always remember it. You didn't show the roots of evil though. Not a major obstacle but I hated it. Thanks for sharing this trail!!!
I totally understand your Dad's love for these Colorado Mountains. I'm a native, and I have tried to move to other states, but within 6 months I'm back. Once again, Thanks for sharing and God Bless.
Awesome trail Colt its really a pleasure watching this tribute. You and Shana really put it together well. Thank you both for taking us along for the ride. The old movies are the icing 👌
Well over 30 years ago I lost my father to cancer. Now I'm long in the tooth, and my memories are failing. I thank you and the Mrs. For bringing my father back . If j6st for awhile.
When I was younger I had a Baja bug 31" skinnies on the front 33" tire on the back and I passed jeeps with bigger tires and 4×4 in AZ and NM. It's all what are you willing to do to the vehicle, with a custom 1835 with a super charger that made probably close to 240 HP with a total tube frame. On the weekends some guy would take their off-road rigs to the salt river to race on the river rocks needless to say after winning the first 3 races nobody wanted to race anymore. I miss those days I still go out and play some with my 01 F350 it is to big with most of the trailers around me. I love this series honoring your dad he has to have a big smiling looking down you.
Holy cross holds a special place for us too, even though we haven't driven it yet ourselves. Our Mom took us backpacking up there all the way to Clevland Lake as teenagers just before we could drive. We had (still do) a Cj7 and we would have much rather tried to take it than walk. On the way down I remember seeing a built Bronco coming down the trail and being so envious. Shortly after we turned the Cj7 into a rock crawler, and still have it to this day. Even back then Clevland rock was unfathomable. The mud bog still existed and looked tough, there were a number of nasty side hills as you mentioned, one near the area you mentioned being blown out now and another where you mentioned it wasn't much of an obstacle but now is. I rode up there a few years ago with a friend in his SXS and it's a little different for sure. We are glad you got to share special moments and places like these with your dad.
I remembered as a kid doing this trail with the jeep club in spring run off. We would camp at Camp Hale. The creek would actually run down the road. Started at the water fall. Water coming over the hood. Then the bogg on top. Back then there were no winch points. Thank you for sharing. It bringing back a lot of memories.
I made it as far as French Creek crossing for many attempts until I got my Bronco built. I screamed like a kid when I finally made it!! Thank you again for sharing and really love the series.
colt. thank you for another video trail ride . not only was the country side beautiful it has a warm kind hearted feeling to it.remembering all the things that you had done with your dad. it brought tears to me. again thank you sir for the ride along with you.i loved it.your dad is looking down on you very pleased with what you have done and became.
I see why you guys liked that place. We used to do similar stuff down here in North Georgia/East Tennessee. Thanks for sharing your memories and your Dad, Colt.
Colt and Shanna, thanks for sharing the stories as well as the scenery, old home movies, and the editing is fantastic. Stay safe, and Shanna, love your dad jokes 😅.
Love this series, when my dad passed I wanted to go see the things he had seen and stand where he stood, you actually have the video evidence that you could do exactly that
Thanks for sharing.Your dad was a great man.Reminds me of my old man always doing something fun.A few years back he bought a 1951 Studebaker we plan to put the body on my grannys old ford country station wagon with a 5.0.
The first time I ran Holy Cross was shortly after Big Horn Jeep Club did all that work on the bog in my trusty old CJ7 on 31's and we were able to climb Cleveland Rock with 31's too! That's how much that trail has changed over the decades. It is one of the most beautiful trails in the country. I'm glad your dad was able to experience this trail so many years ago, and you continue the tradition. My son spent much of his childhood in the back seat of my CJ. And he continues the tradition just like you are. Love it!!! 🙂
These roads were mostly built by miners, trying to get equipment up and ore down from the mine. They often used 6 oxen with push pull setups to move heavy loads. It really is a spiritual experience to run these trails.
A Classic, when you told that guy who struggled up the trail 'LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE ELSE SHOULDN'T BE UP HERE! proves your dad's experience was king! This video has everything! Shannon climbing a giant tree, turquoise alpine lake and treacherous downhill rock climbing. But the best part.. your memories and home movies. What a great ride, thanks for sharing!
you are very lcuky to have the old footage. much has been lost ornever even taken. your dad was a great man, and you are doing him a great honor documenting this.
Colt, thank you for sharing this series of videos about life with your dad. I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say that these kind of videos can make you think differently about things that are important and that matter most. We ran the holy cross trail this summer with the adventure wheelers group and it was an awesome day. Super cool to relive that through this video!
That your dad took the time to film his adventures and that footage is now part of this tribute decades later is amazing. Without a doubt your dad was the kind of guy a person would want as a friend. You guys thought you had 4 rigs and a handful of folks on the ride. But really, there were thousands of us riding along with ya. lol
Thank you Colt for shearing such person time and videos with us about you and your dad. A Jeep or any other vehicle with standard size tires would be hard pressed to make some of the portions on the Holy Cross trail these days from the looks of it.
what a great tribute series. he would be proud of you for doing this....especially in the onyx build. hard to believe the old carb vehicles made it up that far.
Awesome video liked your fathers comments and video. I attempt😊ed Holy Cross in 1994 in a 67 cj5 during a cold rain. Maded 2/3 up it. Finally in 2014 returned in my 07 jk Rubicon maded it with 35" and winched twice. Didn't break anything unlike the group aheadof us. Presently working on two 1966 stock V6 CJ5s. Love the older stuff.
Good memories for me as well. I can remember climbing Cleveland Rock next to that tree stump. Right before that was a narrow leaner to the right. We used to climb it with street rigs and lockers in both ends on "huge", for the day 33" tires. The last time I did that trail I was on my WR450, dirt bike. It was probably the toughest trail I ever dirt biked on. Talk about arm pump! No one on that day could climb that rock wall. We also used to 4 wheel clear up to the lake as you mentioned. I'm impressed that you made it with a full bodied rig & no damage! Lots of fish in Homesteak Reservoir.......😁
Absolutely love these videos with your dad...wish I had more time to do these things with my dad. He ran Scouts back in the 70's. I've have been on many trails (Holy Cross among them) with my youngest son (his built '98 TJ) and they are some of my fondest memories. Keep these coming, they are awesome!
Another beautiful ride, your dad sounds like someone Id like to have known.. tribute videos are a very cool idea! Shannon monkey up the tree was pretty neat, God bless y'all
I just hit the thumbs up before I even start watching cause I just know it will be good. That little S-10 is pretty impressive. Close to Leadville, that’s a ways away from home for ya being in Farmington. Beautiful country.
I've never been there, but I probably won't make it there. But thank you for this video series, a lot of history and learning. Can't wait to see the rest
Great videos and telling of your dad’s legacy, you are doing him proud. This is off topic but I am setting up my shop and in one of your earlier videos you talked about your new air compressor. I believe you said it was fairly quiet. Could you please share that info with me? Thank you and Merry Christmas
The compressor is extremely quiet and way more powerful than my larger one was. It's on the world's quietest compressor video. Link is pinned in comments and in the video description.
That trail has changed a ton in the 3 years since I did it last. Is that good or bad? Couple more obstacles so that’s cool… Colt - your lady rocks. She helps build, she wheels with you, and she monkeys the drone out of a tree. Dare I say that’s hot, without meaning any offense? Lucky dude Seems like trails are being beat up more these days - and I think it’s the side x sides. We crawl, and they can’t. Be cool if they build a ads crawler version
Great trip and History, and I dint even leave my seat (since Im on Disability, this is the only way I'll ever see these places), P.S. When is national "Parade Day" March Forth😂🤣😁
Not enjoying this episode’s at all. Your remembrance of your dad should stay with you and not publicly put on utube. I am let down by this , being your choice. I lost my father and mother a few years ago. Doesn’t mean I have to make it world wide known. Respect is a great thing to everybody. ❤
This series is just awesome so far great footage excellent story Colt incredible 💯 bud !! Your dad was an amazing guy love it I'm hooked like he was on these trails !!!
love to watch the old videos of you and your dad doing the old trails and i think its pretty special that you have your dad with you along for the ride
Thank you, this is what he would want. He really enjoyed the outdoors and watching us continue the process on TH-cam as well.
Thank you for including us in your memories of your Dad.
I know this is tough on you Colt but it is a great history lesson for all of your viewers I'm crying as i write this!!✌️🇺🇲
love seeing the old school broncos, jeeps and Landcruiser's. really love the Blazer, i drove a 78 blazer as my first vehicle in 1987
I gotta say this series for your dad is epic! The love of family, enjoying the outdoors is why i watch your channel!
Cheers from Southern California USA 🇺🇸 ❤
I am so glad you have been enjoying it. Thanks

I typically like the build videos but really like your narrations of the wheeling videos. Enjoying the series about your Dad. Thank You.
I totally understand your Dad's love for these Colorado Mountains. I'm a native, and I have tried to move to other states, but within 6 months I'm back. Once again, Thanks for sharing and God Bless.
Really awesome trail ride. Those old videos are priceless. Back those up somehow, irreplaceable memories. Pass those down with yalls adventures.
Lovin' this series of tributes to your dad! Another beautiful trail !!
Sorry for your loss colt I watch your videos all the time I'm gonna be building my 4x4 this next summer
Awesome trail Colt its really a pleasure watching this tribute. You and Shana really put it together well. Thank you both for taking us along for the ride. The old movies are the icing 👌
I appreciate that, it is a special place for us.

I'm really digging these videos! Love the stories and the old footage.
One of my favorite trails
I made it as far as French Creek crossing for many attempts until I got my Bronco built. I screamed like a kid when I finally made it!! Thank you again for sharing and really love the series.
I broke an axle and hub the first time I attempted French Creek. Made each time after that so much sweeter!
Another nice tribute to your dad. It's incredible what they could do with those older rigs. The S-10 turned out to be such a cool rig.
colt. thank you for another video trail ride . not only was the country side beautiful it has a warm kind hearted feeling to it.remembering all the things that you had done with your dad. it brought tears to me. again thank you sir for the ride along with you.i loved it.your dad is looking down on you very pleased with what you have done and became.
Loving the series, really good to see the S10 back on some moderately difficult trails again.
Beautiful country!!
Great having your friends joining you guys. God bless
Colt I love these videos. I hope you have many more
The Clewley Trail to Heaven Series. Great tribute to Pops.

Be Thankful you had your Dad for as long as you did! I lost my Dad when I was 19. But I will always have him in my heart! Great Video!

Thank you for sharing such beautiful trails to remember your father. Thoughts and prayers 🙏
Shannon is fearless. Thanks for the video.
Colt and Shanna, thanks for sharing the stories as well as the scenery, old home movies, and the editing is fantastic. Stay safe, and Shanna, love your dad jokes 😅.
Really enjoying you "Dad's memorial trails" series. Looking forward to more.
I appreciate that, there are a few more to come.

This series of videos should have 1 million views +.....If not, well, I am blessed to be watching this documentary. You guys rock!!!
Love the tribute

that white blazer at 27.39 has popped up on facebook marketplace a few times in New Mexico

So Sully and Boo survived Holy Cross!
Best video homage...ever.

I really appreciate this series - Thank you! Shanna, I can't believe you climbed that tree with sandals! You rock!
She’s got some crazy good balance!
what a great tribute series. he would be proud of you for doing this....especially in the onyx build. hard to believe the old carb vehicles made it up that far.
He did a great job. Because you an awesome man and very good at what you do. Great trails

Loving the epic thumbnail 😮😮😮 much love and respect
My admiration of Shanna continues to go up.
What a nice video. I highly recommend watching to the end.
My old man and I did this in our 72 Blazer back in the last century 😎

good stuff !!!!!
Very cool

6:15 Cloud question mark. 😂

Love your channel my man, I hope one day to find myself a woman like you have. Y'all are Inspirational
Thanks, I'm lucky to have her.

Thanks
Damn she is a climber! Didn.t expect that.
Kevin with light bright is always trying to get up that obstacle
It's tough, but growing up on it helps know the few lines that I can make. Maybe he needs leaf springs, hehe.
something worth mentioning is they didn't have bead locks on their rigs
That's a Sweet Powerwagon
Great trip and History, and I dint even leave my seat (since Im on Disability, this is the only way I'll ever see these places), P.S. When is national "Parade Day" March Forth😂🤣😁
Haha, it should be a national holiday!
Could you do a video on what lockers you recommend. I have a 95 jeep wrangler sport on 33s
Hey Colt. what radio system do you run in your vehicles?
Does your S10 still have the sketchy transfer box shafts in it or have you replaced them yet?
Colt, lean on God's word. You didn't lose your Dad, you know exactly where he is.
Your dad was the OG pioneer off-roader/4 wheeler, you should make or find a new trail and name it after your dad
That would be cool one day
Colt, did your mom ever go with your dad?
Not enjoying this episode’s at all. Your remembrance of your dad should stay with you and not publicly put on utube. I am let down by this , being your choice. I lost my father and mother a few years ago. Doesn’t mean I have to make it world wide known.
