Scoring early only made it worse. Madrid wouldn't wake up if you're playing a draw. Once you score against them, you just ignite their inner beast. If you're going to score early, be ready to defend perfectly against Madrid .

To answer Craig's question, Ancelotti said he put Modric too high to press & it took him out of the game. So, he allowed Modric to drop deeper & we had more bodies around the centre of the park to dominate the midfield, this gave Camavinga space cause he wasn't 2v1 pressed in the midfield. Fede also improved as game went on.

Completely agree. I was begging at the TV for Carlo to sub off Alaba, so it was a relief when Alaba walked off, he looked uncomfortable and if you need solidity in defence, Nacho does a great job. It changed the game 100 percent. Salah would have gotten another goal otherwise.

One thing Real have really been blessed about is their brilliant midfield. From Guti, Beckham and Zidane to Kroos Casemiro and Modric (the best and most successful one), Valverde and Camavinga and Tchouameni in the future and Kroos and Modric still killing it. Their defensive record hasn't been the best over two decades despite Ramos and Varane on the team but their midfield, my goodness

I agree with one of the points brought up. Real Madrid's "philosophy" is to play football. That's their go-to strategy. While Liverpool's strong point, and what they get praised for, is pressing and shutting down other teams. So basically Liverpool's best trait isn't actually football. To counter Steve's point about anyone that wants Klopp out, I tell you this from a movie quote 'You Either Die A Hero Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain' and this quote I think sums up Klopp at the moment, he is at the moment a hero (whether or not you think that at the moment) , he has a legacy at this club that's up there with our best managers however it's turning sour and the longer it stays that way with the lack of FSG funding or FSG willingness to let us spend a bit more of our money that we actually earn, the lack of using the structure that was behind the true success of the club when buying the players with the money that we do choose to spend, the lack of ideas on the pitch, the poor in game tactics etc., If that continues which I think will, then I think Jurgen Klopp will become a villain and his legacy will be tarnished and he will leave this club being that and I don't want that, I love and hate the guy too much to see that day coming but it is, if he hands in his resignation tonight or tomorrow even if it's for the summer, I think even with FSG still in at the club and as long as Pep Ljinders doesn't become manager, then I am happy because there are managers out there that have worked under strict budgets like us or even stricter (like my first choice in Amorim, you think our budget is strict, his highest transfer fee for a player bought is 16 million euros, that's should be peanuts for a team like Liverpool to spend on a player)
People don't understand one thing: the way Real plays UCL is totally different than how they play LaLiga! In UCL they have motivation that lacks them in LaLiga...that's why it is very difficult to beat them in this particular competition
