The only thing I have read about dying children’s Hair is that it can get damaged a lot easier they are more prone to allergic reactions because they haven’t gone Through all the changes that puberty brings . It’s totally your choice as the mom though.
Also, each time you wash your hair large amounts of the dye wash out. If you wash/rinse in tepid, cool water it will set the dye better. It's a wonderful product and will last about 6 weeks
Rosemary Minter thank you for pointing this out, you are correct, washing in cold water will keep the colour for longer. I don’t wash my hair every day though and while I didn’t wash with cold water, I also didn’t wash with hot water. It’s a semi-permanent colour so it absolutely will fade eventually, even with washing in cold water. I just can’t stand having a cold shower and don’t enjoy washing my hair in the sink either. Considering I only wash my hair, at most, 3 times per week, this wasn’t an issue for me. Your shampoo will also contribute to changes in colour / fading, as will the hardness of your water.
I use this on my medium brown hair and myself...I LOVE it!!! I just use it for highlights, which is hard for me because I'm sure not a professional. :-) But you can really see the purple in my hair. My only complaint....I have a hard time finding it!!
Yes.....my problem too! I can only find it at cvs or walmart. I had my hair blonde on top and dark underneath ans it turned out Amazing!!!

You should do it. The worst thing that will happen is that you don't like the colour and you can fix that. ;)

+Stephanie Deveau how often do you recolor? Do you do the whole head or just the roots?
+T Vest the first time I needed to recolour after a couple weeks. But after that I was able to wait almost four weeks. My hair grows pretty slowly. Since purple is considered semi-permanent I always coloured the whole head.
I just heard her say it's best to dye your hair when it's dirty. I've been using this particular color and brand of hair color for over a year. First of all, the instructions say to dye AFTER you've washed your hair and it's dry. She also says she's going to leave it on for 45 min. This will make her hair far to dark.

Perhaps I should have been more clear in my video, if you have sensitive skin, as I do, it’s better to dye when your hair is dirty as the oils in your hair help to protect your scalp. I did mention I left it on longer than what the instructions said - I gave those times as well - based on research I had done on the product. As you can see at the end of the video, it wasn’t too dark. Not for what I wanted. I have relatively dark hair to begin with as well as some greys and grey can be harder to dye. This is why I left it on for longer.
Great review! How quickly did it fade? Did it fade to a brighter purple or to a red?
Hi Jenny! Thank you for watching and for your question. The first time I used this product it faded pretty quickly, in about two weeks. I noticed though that my roots, where my virgin hair was, it wasn't nearly as faded. I bought some more and did it again and the colour last longer, almost four weeks. I was expecting it to fade quickly because purple is considered a semi-permanent colour and it's close to red which is the quickest fading colour. It didn't really fade to red, just a washed out purple. I would imagine if I had waited six to eight weeks to reapply it would have turned more of a bronzy colour but that is because my hair has a natural bronze hue to it. I love this dye and will continue using it even if I decide to go with a different colour. But for now, I am loving the purple and planning to lighten my hair so it will be a brighter purple. I hope this information helps!

My hair is naturally black I am dyeing my hair London luxe London lilac 5vr hair dye I am using two boxes and a cap how long should I keep the dye before washing it out hopefully it will be a dark purple or maroon and not burgundy more on a purple side and not red.My black hair when it hits sunlight has red in it so I think it will be more on the red side.My ends are brown red.Wish me luck

I'm naturally very blonde. I want this color.... what do you think
I have no training as a colourist and I'm not blonde so I can't give you my own personal experience with the product having blonde hair. However, Vidal Sassoon does have excellent customer service with colourists available to speak with. If you're in Canada or the US the number is 1-877-286-7163. I would recommend calling them to determine if the product is suitable for blonde hair. It really is a beautiful colour! Good luck!
I put it on blonde and it was beautiful.....i wish i could post a pic! Very bright...but i like that so it was awesome for me!
I tried this and it turned my hair a magenta color and I hated it
