Haha I probably should've spent the extra money to put a new one in just for the piece of mind, but it looked to be in good shape with little wear, so I put it back in
The quality on these videos are really next level and the passion that goes into them can not be over looked. I am sure the views on your videos will one day be more then the miles, keep up the great content!
Awesome video. It takes a pro to do a complicated repair like that. The video editing was cool too. I’m stoked to see more uploads from you. You’ll always be my favorite car youtuber.
Dude, production levels are way up there First off, super sick build That box white is beautiful But then you go the extra mile with the extra nice add-ins Very nice work my man Just subscribed for more build videos ✅
Thanks! Glad you liked the music. It's from this super underground, up and coming band from Chicago that has no name. More info on them as they become more public!
Awesome! Very cool to know my little channel has reached the other side of the world! They put the 2.6 in rodeos here as well. Also the Isuzu pup pickup. The Troopers we're sold as Holden Jackaroos in Australia, right?
@@HighMileageReviews yup all that's correct. I think the trooper has a added body line or Something about them just looks off compared to our jacks. But overall I believe your right. I'm trying to find more info on turboing one of these old girls and typed "4ze1" into TH-cam and you came up among all the other videos I've watched 30 times from 15 years ago and seen your a new and recent channel. So glad to have someone else appreciating the old 4z and is also willing to do the time to document your adventures.
@@HighMileageReviews kinda funny that yours is a 89 aswell 😂 my single cab rodeo was a 89 and currently swapping whats left of the good parts into a 93 space cab rodeo. Keeping the 89 motor with and I've put the circle throttle body, intake and red top injectors off the 93 onto the 89s head and block. By far a big improvement, even just a circle throttle body and the injectors would give u a bit extra power out of the old girl.
Hi, very good job!!! I have the same Trooper 2.6 89' 4ZE1 but Automatic. I need to transform it to a manual gearbox. So i need to find a gearbox compatible.. Do you have any idea? Thank you have a nice day
Excellent! I'll be tackling this job soon on my 2.6. Also I use the same green thermarest under my 'zu too haha! I remember this trooper on Phoenix CL with the leaks. Great score dude
No kidding? It's been over a year now since I purchased it. I got it much cheaper than the seller was asking too, but the other big issue it had was emissions. Took nearly a year of chasing my tail to get it to pass! Good luck with fixing yours! With the right tools, it shouldn't be too bad
Keep an eye out for at least a couple more repair videos of common trooper issues. They're 31" Mickey Thompson MTZ tires on OEM Isuzu snowflake style wheels. Previous owner painted them black, but I'll probably respray them a dark gray/gunmetal color at some point
Nice video and terrific work as thats no easy job. Are there any sources in AZ for parts? I've been looking for a 5 speed manual transmission/transfer assy for 91 Trooper for two years now her in San Diego and can't find one anywhere. I'm dowb until I can locate one for my Trooper. Keep the great content coming. Love trooper videos but never enough of them out there.
Thanks! I don't have any local sources, but there is a guy on the planet isuzoo forum by the name of Shawn Anthony who is located in Reno, Nevada. He has quite the inventory of hard-to-find parts, and remanufactures them in-house. Contact him on the forum!
I believe the manufacturer recommended fluid was just motor oil. Something like 5w-30 i think. I can't remember the exact viscosity. You should double check if you have a Haynes repair manual or search the planet isuzoo forum
I don't know that information off the top of my head. I no longer have the vehicle or the repair manual. I'd recommend searching a forum for your answer
I like your confidence. Putting the used clutch back in rather than replacing it is a boss move
Haha I probably should've spent the extra money to put a new one in just for the piece of mind, but it looked to be in good shape with little wear, so I put it back in
if this was a trooper only channel Id watch every video like 5 times
Checkout his high mileage review videos. He does a great job giving a lot of interesting information on each car and mixes in a lot of humor.
My trooper will become a recurring feature on this channel, as it fits the high mileage theme. Consider subscribing if you'd like to see more of it!
Glad to see I’m not the only one keep a old Isuzu alive. My space cab is in need of a rear main seal.
Sooner or later people will notice what they're missing out on. Then us Isuzu freaks will be in business!
Poopers are hidden gems, I love mine
They sure are

Hey mate, I'm in Australia and these motors are in our rodeos.
They are amazing over here.

The 2.6 4ZE1 uses the MUA5 5 speed manual transmission. You should be good to swap that over in place of your auto
beautyful Isuzu Trooper
Thank you

Great resource for my future repairs! thanks for the great video. What wheels and tires you running there? looks dope.

And the comedy is GOLD
Haha
Gotta sub
Thanks! Every sub counts. Glad you liked my style
An 89 Trooper II with that grill? Did you change that?
The previous owner swapped the front end with pre-88 grill and headlights
You have a lift? What size tires? Look bigger than my 31s on my 90 2.8
They're 31s. No lift
Did you build those bumpers yourself? Nice job on the rear seal.
Thanks. I did not build the bumpers. The previous owner built them, and I bought the truck that way

@@HighMileageReviews Thanks dude 👍
I miss my 89 trooper so bad. What a haus got through every AZ backroad
It's not too late to get another one while they're still cheap!
What transmission fluid did you use
I have 1990 and im doing the same thing

Great video
Can you tell me the torque of the flywheel? Thanks

"Yeah, I used to work out." hahahahaha
It's true if you could believe it!
Great video 🤘🤘😎
Thanks, Albert!
I have this model and want to do this while I change the clutch
Good idea! Don't wanna have to take the trans out multiple times if you don't have to
@@HighMileageReviews oh and thanks for the video you gave me the confidence to tackle this big job
Should have used a pressure washer to save your back and knees while washing the transmission.
Didn't want to risk getting water into anything. Had a few leaks already, so if oil could get out, then water could probably get in if forced!
