    Still working through the very early section of your fundamentals book. I don't seem to have the ear to hear the music the way you do. Wish I could develop that and maybe this wouldn't be quite as hard.

    Are these concepts also explained in “Playing solo jazz piano” book?

      I don’t think so. He’s got another book coming on “improvisation”. I’m sure it details improv ideas in there.

      @@brothercaleb That will be a novelty in the market. All books just teach scales, patterns on scales, playing call and response but none of them specifically what to play how to develop solo or what is a good phrase.

      Brother Caleb, you beat me to it! Yes - there’s not much melodic improv in Playing Solo Jazz Piano. There is quite a bit in Jazz Piano Fundamentals.
