7:12 - taming the lighter on the flask with wire
7:50 - cotton rag as a wick

8:44 - lid
8:51 - finished lighter

My grandpa who was in world War 1 did this kind of stuff. He used to make everything from scratch. He designed his own duplexes, then built them around town. They are still being lived in today. He built wooden furniture for us kids then painted them bright colors. Shaped like big blocks so we could carry them around and build all kinds of creations by stacking them up. I was just a tiny kid with my twin sister but I still remember that. That was about 1954.

Its not kerosene .It would be petrol or spirit ( alcohol). Kerosene won't catch fire from sparks..

Hey guy maby O ring between cap nut and wick stem nut so it can be stored inverted like say in your pocket. Small hose clamps instead of copper wire. Bye the way I really like it. Gotta make one now. Thank you mister highly intelligent person. Travel size licure bottles, some have metal screw on lids I think 🤔. Or Hey how about Small metal lided food jars. Or mason jar table lighter.
