So, with a knew body that most likely didn't have clinical depression and any real ties to dark energy, Wei Ying is now able to be his old happy-go-lucky self again, and not have to worry about battling a mental illness.

In the Donghua, when there were fighting water ghouls and wei ying was pulled to the bottom and surrounded by so many resentful energy, some of that energy seeped into him and into his core. So when he transplanted his core to Jiang Cheng, don't you think there was a slight chance that Jiang Cheng was also effected? I'm just saying, but do you guys get it? Well, in the novel those scenes with the resentful energy never happened (from what I can remember). But true, in the donghua they went on a different route. They either wanted to make the only donghua watchers familiar with the resentful energy or they might try to change a few things with the golden core. If they really go with your assumptions it could explain somehow Jiang Cheng's intense hatred from the present. But in my opinion that would be only a small detail that complets the story xD Or maybe they have other ideas, who knows. I also think Jiang Cheng is more powerful after changing the golden core. But that's only because its Wei Wuxian's.

Man..i just realized something. In the Donghua, when there were fighting water ghouls and wei ying was pulled to the bottom and surrounded by so many resentful energy, some of that energy seeped into him and into his core. So when he transplanted his core to Jiang Cheng, don't you think there was a slight chance that Jiang Cheng was also effected? I'm just saying, but do you guys get it? And I think that Jiang Cheng also somehow grew powerful than he was at before. Hmm.. seems something fishy tbh.😏 😎 But ofcourse it's just an assumption. 🙄
Well, in the novel those scenes with the resentful energy never happened (from what I can remember). But true, in the donghua they went on a different route. They either wanted to make the only donghua watchers familiar with the resentful energy or they might try to change a few things with the golden core. If they really go with your assumptions it could explain somehow Jiang Cheng's intense hatred from the present. But in my opinion that would be only a small detail that complets the story xD
Or maybe they have other ideas, who knows.
I also think Jiang Cheng is more powerful after changing the golden core. But that's only because its Wei Wuxian's.
