The amazing Sriracha Tiger Zoo just outside of Pattaya Thailand

  • The enormous depth of things to do and see in and around Bangkok is just one of the many reasons Thailand is so popular as a tourist destination, Here is another very clear example of this fact. It is in fact uncertain when Sriratcha Tiger Zoo first opened, however it was in 1982 when it first started caring for tigers. The zoo started with just 2 couples, and currently there are 345 Bengal tigers housed here, with numbers increasingly on the rise...the largest captive Bengal tiger population in the world.

This is just stupid... Acoording to an examination this is the place in Thailand where the tigers have the very worst conditions!

I went there a week ago - was probably the only European there. "Caring for Tigers" is a bit of Euphemism - they live in horrible conditions and seeing the smacked around the head by wire whips is not something I would recommend for anyone other than the Japanese who appear to lap it up.

And there drugged up it’s horrible that a magnificent animal like that should be treated this way

How safe is this? Cause I’m kinda of scared that a safari style zoo could get a lot of people killed.

Of all of the seventeen major tiger entertainment venues we investigated in Thailand, it was Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Pattaya that has the highest number of tigers in captivity, now that the tigers at the Tiger Temple have been confiscated. This venue is also the one where we observed the poorest conditions.
Julie , head of our Wildlife - Not Entertainers campaign, said: “It is very worrying that at the time of our research there were 207 more tigers subjected to the misery of being entertainment for tourists than there were five years ago.
“At Sriracha Tiger Zoo our investigator witnessed one tiger that was so thin the hips and ribs were visible.”

I have been there several times and the conditions arent that bad .HOWEVER I HAVE SAT NEXT TO THAT HUGE TIGER AND IM CONVINCED ITS SEDATED AS ALL IT WANTS TO DOIS SLEEP .If you look at the ones in their pens they are really active roaring and sharpening their claws so this one must be drugged .And to say a trainer with the crocodiles has never been seriously hurt is dead wrong .I was there when he shoved his arm in the crocodiles mouth and he snapped it shut rolled him a couple of times and eventually released him but the guy was badly hurt blood all down his arm and very quickly left the stage different guy the next time i went .The tiger show is very good he even has trained one to ignore his commands which is funny .But you cant train crocodiles .They seem to put it in a trance by rubbing a stick in its mouth and over its head but accidents do happen .And after i saw that guy getting his arm mangled i shut my eyes when they put there head in there .

I know Thailand is hotspot for the wildlife trade(the illegal kind just to avoid unwanted confusion) but this attraction looks Five star material !!

I find this cruel, they breed tigers just to have them in a circus... I would love to feed and touch a tiger but i don't agree with this

its not fair ..all the tigers are treated as slave there ..the zoo authority made them go over the fire and do all those risky stuff which is dangerous for them.. i dont support such and will never ever visit such zoo.. i don’t encourage such things

Not in disagreement, but there are far more abusive tiger places. Safari World is better hands down.

At 8 years old a tiger should be around 400 pounds. They look so skinny. I support zoos, but this isn't a zoo. They also probably drug the tigers.
