  • Hi guys,
Welcome back to another data in the life of a data analyst. This is a continuation from the previous vlog - so the same day. I am working on a query to obtain data for a request from my manager. In the video you will see me workin on a query using Google Big Query to showcase the process and because I am unable to share the data I'm pulling from work.

This content is so much better than those that start with "Making a cup of coffee, making breakfast, going to the gym, meditating, and so-called 'day in the life of a data analyst' videos." Thanks! I learned something from this.

Thank you so much. I’m studying SQL right now and this helped me understand how data analysts use it on their day-to-day work

Really inspiring. Hoping to get a Data Analyst role soon. Love that I understand everything you're doing in SQL.

Learning SQL right now. Loved this video, sharing with my class for Monday Motivation. Good to see what we're learning used in a real work environment. ^_^ Thankyou

Whoa, how long did it take you to memorize the proper syntax to pull queries like that? Did you use notes/ reference sheet at first? Super impressed 🙌🏼

It took a couple of months but I had to learn the basics first. It commits to memory when you're doing it day in and out. I just have to look up syntax that I don't use as frequently now or when I get an ambiguous error message.

@NakyaSherrell Nice, that's not too bad. I am learning the basics now and it is a lot to remember right now. And it's literally like learning a language, lol. So your insights are helpful. The day in day out part 👌🏽

SQL is actually really easy compared to other languages. The most difficult thing is finding out where is the data and who has it.

How often do you work in the cloud and what main tasks and functions do you use the most? I have taken sql and tableau classes last semester. I am currently taking python, advanced excel, and Azure classes. I’ve worked in the dental field administration for the last 15 years and am transitioning into data analysis.

Sorry, I need to do a better job of explaining. I was trying to show something similar to what I was doing at work. Next time I will include a better explanation. Thanks for commenting. Your feedback was very helpful.

I try to put everything concisely in emails cause if a meeting doesn't need to happen it doesn't need to happen. But they still make me create a meeting -_-
