I have never seen a jack like that before. Splendid restoration job you did on that Swedish jack. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
Fun restoration! A lot of different skills went into doing it and making it so nice in form and fiction. I don’t understand why people feel the need to “correct” someone on how they do this sort of work. This is how you wanted to do it and how far you wanted to restore/improve. Fantastic job!! Really enjoyed it.
Some don’t like it, but I like that you use filler to smooth rough surfaces. The Jack itself lets you know it’s old so making it look as new as possible is great. Very nice work. Especially with making a new hook. Well done 👍
Great job!!!!! The film is very well EDITED, but some general plans are missing. And a show of how this jack works would be useful. Greating from Poland.
I enjoyed the brazing. Many restoration amateur hacks will weld cast iron, which creates majorly _reduced_ strength in the heat-affected weld zone. Nicely done here.
Some extremely good REPAIRS/restoration👏. I believe some have a problem with the word "Restoration" because of the difference in meaning between the words.👍
Hello, I have taken apart many antique and rusty old stuff and never once have I had a teardown where something didn't go flying somewhere. How would I help to minimize this a little?

@@efimkrivov Dear friend, it was imported to England from Switzerland on that date by a person named Harvey Frost. This is an antique and I couldn't find any info on this jack on google or the rest of the internet!
no way i'd trust that brazing repair to last. Strong as it may be, it'll fail again. That hook is much too weak. it's probably a fundamental problem with this design to begin with.
Gordon-Cable? Not Gordon-Keeble? I looked up Gordon-Cable but only found Gordon-Keeble which made just 100 cars from 1964 to 1967 (and had a seriously cool logo which featured a tortoise even though the Corvette-engined cars were actually fast, lol.)
Nice job. But there is something that doesn't work for me. The hook is made of cast steel and has probably undergone some kind of reinforcement. How can you weld welding steel to it??
Apparently, he wants to translate the concept of Sweden into Swedish (Google Translate). Other languages are translated by artificial intelligence, so it is not expected.
I myself am sensitive about this issue and I never want to destroy the originality of the product. The purpose of the filler is to make the piece look a little cleaner.

Good job, but slightly over restored. As a lot of TH-cam restorers do. Don’t use filler on a rough casting, takes the character away.
