I am just starting out in whitewater and I am using a LL Remix XP 10. I added the optional whitewater bulkhead instead of the foot pegs. I would love to get your thoughts on the limitations these crossover boats have for whitewater?
Talked to the rep, they will be adding front pillar and foot brace. Actually very comfortable for me. Around 1200.00 MRSP. Only thing I did not like was the skeg deployment location.
Yeah they told me that might be different outfitting on the us version of this. And the skeg drop was what I liked the best it was very effective in that location
Sounds like a dumb question but did the back cover leak water? I have a Jackson Traverse and been on lots of trips. It seems to leak. I did about 50 rolls and checked and no water in the back. I checked all the places it would leak from and the only place was the rubber deck cover. I wrapped two wraps of electrical tape around the rim and no more leaks. I don't have the hard top modification because its never come off. Has anyone else had the cover came off? I've never had my boat in more then a class 3 so not sure what to think. My other boat with a back bulkhead is a Wilderness Systems Pungo and the cover leaks like crazy. The Traverse and the Pungo are completely different boats. There is no comparison. Would be could to get some feedback on the Jackson Traverse. It's the only white water kayak I have owned. I like it but that's because it's all I know.
Very good video, thanks, Wade! I am looking for a crossover kayak. Looking for something with a skeg and a hatch, mainly paddling on small rivers. I appreciate that the ION is shorter than other crossover kayaks like Pyranha Fusion II. I wonder if some 'compromises' have been made on the ION: no foot rest plate, no adjustable thigh grips , seat not on rail. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Do these 'compromises' matter?
I think the scaled down version of this works just fine for east whitewater and flats. The only thing that i would consider upgrading in this is the footrails..

Usually up to about class 3ish whitewater

This one is in Charolette NC your best bet is the Oklahoma park it’s called OKC whitewater Park

I looked and didn’t notice any water in and that was a lot of white water I’m sure in flatwater and easy water it would be fine

Yeah I liked the design kinda like basic but everything you need hatch drop skeg comfortable
