I think you guys remember the first two a little more light hearted than they really were. A member of the Guardians of the Galaxy has died in each of their films, with the original Groot dying in Vol. 1 and Yondu dying in Vol. 2. A sort of serious sort of comedic tone has been consistent with the trilogy.
Yea those movies had some serious emotional tones in them in the climatic scenes. These films do everything that the Thor films fail at. They give you emotional weight and the comedy is used as levity between the heavy moments, where as Thor's films the comedy distracts from what are supposed to be somber moments.

Could’ve used more dark, emotional Gorr scenes, and overall, the last 10 minutes or so of the movie is fine, I feel like Thor fighting with the Asgardian children was the only thing that was really over the top and unnecessary.
Nah, the 2nd movie was very joke heavy, even in serious scenes, where as the 1st one seperated comedy and serious scenes, I think the 1st balances it a lot better

I mean they've always been wearing comic accurate outfits though as the MCU heavily inspired the new designs of the Earth-616 comic Guardians. But I get what you mean they're wearing outfits inspired by the Abnett & Lanning comics that very militant almost steampunk looking outfits.
I think James Gunn knows how to integrate comedy and drama where they should be in in regards to the story that is being told. Whether it's the first two guardians movies the holiday special or The suicide squad movie and peacemaker show, I have faith that James Gunn finish the guardians story without disappointment. ( Also I love watching your reactions, you guys are 😃👍)
He lands a lot of it, but he also has a tendency to drag jokes out way too long in some scenes (see: taser face). Still, I’m optimistic about the potential

Guardians movies have always been at the top of my list, heartwarming and tragic stories all involving family. The Holiday Special doesn't shy away from that either so I can just imagine how much this will make me cry considering it's the goodbye to the original guardians

Actually the last Gaurdians was the Christmas Special y’all should watch it if you haven’t already. It is good and has some key parts that help the story of the next movie.
Just an FYI this movie is supposed to be super emotional and heartbreaking because its expected that several if not most of the main cast will be dying in this 3rd movie. This movie will be them exploring rockets past which involves the High Evolutionary, mad scientist geneticist, and all the things he's done. It's the final actual Guardians of the galaxy movie and it's gonna be a real tear jerker.
You guys should react to Peacemaker. It’s a super funny series made by DC starring John Cena as the superhero Peacemaker and it’s actually directed by James Gunn.
High Evolutionary, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Half-World... I could put a theory together about Magus/Warlock and split timelines and Gamora was meant to slay Warlock as she came from the alternate timelne. Adam ends up with the reformatted Infinity Soul Gem, Gamora with the Time Gem, and the others are discovered to be throughout the cosmos requiring a new order to keep watch. An Infinity Watch. Adam with the Soul Gem uses the Devolve function on the animal companions of Halfworld to undo what the High Evolutionary did to Rocket and the others. He also uses the Soul World to have Gamora meet Gamora and resolve her dichotomy. I would hope that Gunn would introduce Pip the Troll and Moondragon. Imagine a high stakes poker game between Rocket, Howard the Duck, and Pip the Troll on Knowhere. Moondragon introduced as a rival to Mantis in contention to be the Celestial Madonna. The pair fight in Knowhere, ending with Moondragon dumped into the pool of cerebral fluids as Drax was in the first volume.
James Gunn is pretty open with his stuff, including squashing false rumors but not to the extent of spoiling things. Someone asked him if they were going to cry watching this movie and his response was "If I have to cry while writing them you have to cry while watching them, that’s the deal.” So yeah. Be prepared for this to be an emotional movie.

This is easily gonna be the best GOTG movie imo and I know there’s gonna be some heartbreak. I definitely think Drax is dying, and likely Rocket as well given how tied his backstory is likely going to be to the Evolutionary

I feel like they are forgetting the bits from Thor 4. I wonder if they are going to tie those events in somehow. Cuz like they say, they've been away for a long time, but clearly not since in Love and Thunder we saw them doing their business. Like Groot was a teenager in Infinity War and Endgame (set 5 years later after being revived from the blip). He was also sort of a teenager in Love and Thunder which takes place not too long after Endgame (2023). My question then is. When does this take place?
My theory is Love and Thunder takes place not long after Endgame, like most of the Phase 4 projects did. This is a year or two down the road at least from that. Remember L&V was supposed to come out sooner than it did, everything got pushed back cuz of COVID.
Lylla is the otter that Rocket was hugging. They were created in the same scientific lab together and the gut punch is that she was killed by lethal injection. This was in the comics. The planet they land on, I'm guessing, is a replica of Earth that was created by the High Evolutionary on the other side of the Sun. At a point, Adam Warlock helps the High Evolutionary as well, which is what I suspect he will be doing in this movie the comics were a bit different in the way things happen. High Evolutinary felt that he can advance beings and used genetic research and experiments, many very questionable, to achieve his goal. This movie will be pretty serious in tone and sad, with some humor sprinkled in lightly.
James Gunn has pretty much confirmed that at least one of the Guardians dies (as does the trailer when it shows Peter crying and screaming in sorrow).... If it's Rocket however my wife swears she will track down Gunn and give him a good thrashing.
I mean yes, the first two Guardians films are funny but in terms of death and destruction the Guardians are the most tragic characters in the MCU! We're talking cancer, Drax's dead family, Thanos father, child torture, genetic manipulation, patricide, girlfriend killed by father, Groot self-sacrifice, Yondu self-sacrifice... So yes this trailer might seem intense but these ideas have been brewing with Gunn for a while...
That’s funny as a guy who doesn’t like most of the marvel stuff now “Guardian’s” is the only movies i cared about enough to buy…. And i like them more than most the movies in the mcu

You need to watch the Holiday Special. There are a couple of keep plot points brought up in that which make a big difference going forward.
However DC tries I never got connected to any of their characters. But I feel connect to every Marvel character, that's what makes the difference 💯💯💯

fan theory says that the logo of the movies indicate who dies but its logical to think both drax and rocket will die dave batista doesnt want to be involved with GOTG if gunn isnt involved and this is his last GOTG movie before moving on to the dceu
I feel like they are forgetting the bits from Thor 4. I wonder if they are going to tie those events in somehow. Cuz like they say, they've been away for a long time, but clearly not since in Love and Thunder we saw them doing their business.
Like Groot was a teenager in Infinity War and Endgame (set 5 years later after being revived from the blip). He was also sort of a teenager in Love and Thunder which takes place not too long after Endgame (2023). My question then is. When does this take place?
My theory is Love and Thunder takes place not long after Endgame, like most of the Phase 4 projects did. This is a year or two down the road at least from that. Remember L&V was supposed to come out sooner than it did, everything got pushed back cuz of COVID.

Lylla is the otter that Rocket was hugging. They were created in the same scientific lab together and the gut punch is that she was killed by lethal injection. This was in the comics. The planet they land on, I'm guessing, is a replica of Earth that was created by the High Evolutionary on the other side of the Sun. At a point, Adam Warlock helps the High Evolutionary as well, which is what I suspect he will be doing in this movie the comics were a bit different in the way things happen. High Evolutinary felt that he can advance beings and used genetic research and experiments, many very questionable, to achieve his goal. This movie will be pretty serious in tone and sad, with some humor sprinkled in lightly.
Considering that both Gunn and Feige have talked about Gunn lending his talents to future MCU projects I don't think anybody is upset with anyone.

James Gunn has pretty much confirmed that at least one of the Guardians dies (as does the trailer when it shows Peter crying and screaming in sorrow).... If it's Rocket however my wife swears she will track down Gunn and give him a good thrashing.

I mean yes, the first two Guardians films are funny but in terms of death and destruction the Guardians are the most tragic characters in the MCU! We're talking cancer, Drax's dead family, Thanos father, child torture, genetic manipulation, patricide, girlfriend killed by father, Groot self-sacrifice, Yondu self-sacrifice... So yes this trailer might seem intense but these ideas have been brewing with Gunn for a while...

That’s funny as a guy who doesn’t like most of the marvel stuff now “Guardian’s” is the only movies i cared about enough to buy…. And i like them more than most the movies in the mcu
0:50 marvel has been disappointing lately and dc has so much potential sad that James is leaving and his final project being one of my last favorite heroes left in the mcu.

im aware that there is multiple guardians teams in the comic books so im expecting someone to die which would actually help separate the comedy from the serious moments, possibly rocket because rocket and quill are like best friends basically it would make sense for him to be crying about rocket dying in the trailer etc, i do enjoy the comic accurate outfits too they look great, overall i think this movie could be a fun roller coaster of mixed emotions which i appreciate, we kinda needed that in an mcu film most of the films i think have been overflown with jokes at wrong times and stuff like that so im excited for it. sorry for the long comment too lol i had a lot to say about it, super pumped!
