I bowled juniors with Robert when he was 14 and I was 17. And he had massive revs then when nobody could throw the ball like that, let alone at 14 with only urethane. He was amazing.
Wow, amazing to see the true potential with people like EJ Tacket, Andrew Anderson, Robert Smith, etc. of a ball can be! Any one hander putting 500+ on a ball has an incredible amount of accurate fine motor skill control. Good stuff. 👍 Reminds me of the Colombia 300 Juke in terms of bang for buck. 😊
Love seeing Dr. Max Bob roll! Informative and entertaining at the same time. This not only helps sell products, but teaches others to become better bowlers.
New bowler trying to build my first arsenal. My first ball was a Rhino, followed by an original Infinity. The same proshop operator drilled both. I'll post each ball's stats and PAP at that time. The Rhino throws absolutely straight, but kind of at a diagonal. I'm left-handed, low rev, 15-19 mph near the pins. I'm not locked in to any brand (though oddly enough I seem to go for Brunswick balls as I also have a Slingshot). Balls are 12 lbs. I can't hook worth a darn, so thinking asymmetric balls that can handle extremely dry through heavy oils? Brunswick Rhino PAP Left 3 1/2 Up 3 1/16 Layout 60 x 3 1/2 x 30° Brunswick Infinity PAP Left 5 Up 1 3/8 Layout 30 x 4 1/4 x 35° Thank you for your time and assistance!
Well here's the thing. If you have a reactive resin ball that's not hooking then it's most likely something with your game that needs to improve. Try looking into videos about drills you can do to make your wrist and finger strong enough to be able to release the ball in a way that puts revolutions on the ball. Look into what your hand position should be when releasing the ball. RPM is a result of form.
"Rhino throws absolutely straight, but kind of at a diagonal." It does? Wow. My Rhino is one of the hardest hooking balls I own. It comes in real handy under oily conditions where my Nu Blu Hammer slides down the lane and then makes a feeble attempt at hooking up near the transition point. But I still like the New Blu for its great play on medium oil lanes. I hadn't shot a 700+ series in 6 years but with the Nu Blu I've had 3 of them in the past month or so. It's nice to have both balls and then just use the one that best matches up with the lane conditions that day. I also have a Hammer Venom but lately, it's been falling off my hand during the delivery. Need to add a drop or two of epoxy to the edge of middle finger hole where it is chipped out, allowing the insert to flex on delivery. That should straighten that problem out.
@edb3877 I wish our lanes had oil. There is usually a very thin, spotty trace of oil on the balls for about half of the first game. After that, you are lucky to find a flare pattern regardless of what type of ball you are using. I did bowl my best game yet, tonight. 198 with my Rhino. Couldn't get my Infinity to do much of anything on the dry. I play 3 to 4 games each night and 4 or 5 nights per week lately. Just started playing this year. I'm not good at all, but with constant dizziness and double vision, I'm trying my best.
Robert makes any ball look good with that killer release, 90% of the bowling population can't do that to the ball, i'm a fan Robert but better to show lower rev rates as well where most conumers can relate.
Cool video tech bowling ball hammer artic vibe with hk22 technology and dynamic core technology in the bowling ball more strike and spares hitting power at times
That is a decent looking ball BUT what i want from Hammer is for them to relaunch their old RAW hammer series like DOOM, Pain etc we get like new black widow every month like they are all good but nothing will be as good as DOOM i need that in my arsenal
You don't... and without a ball drilled to fit your hand, your PAP can't be determined accurately. So the first ball you ever drill is just a guess made by the driller using a "typical" PAP in the range of most bowlers, with a middle-of-the-road layout. Once you have a ball that fits you can actually measure your PAP, and then start experimenting with layouts on subsequent purchases. If you really get into competitive bowling at any level, arsenal building is a process that never really ends...
Honestly people talk about PAP like it's something you must know. But here's the thing, when you throw the ball differently your pap changes. This does NOT mean that pap doesn't matter or that layout doesn't matter but what it does mean is that it doesn't matter nearly as much as everyone says. If you're a traditional one handed thumb in bowler, then I guarantee your pro shop operator can drill your ball for you by just asking how strong of a layout you want. And if you don't know they'll probably just drill it, middle of the road for your average thumb in bowler. It would 99% of the time be fine. Not rolling over any of the holes and doing what you need it to do. Unless you got something weird going on with your release it's fine. Or unless your PSO doesn't know what they're doing.
I mean it really depends on the ball and the house. A solid could be really clean and a pearl could be really early. You could have a hybrid of a clean solid and a clean pearl and have a clean ball. Turns out solid, hybrid, and pearl don't mean that much until you see how the ball actually performs.
Make Bowling Balls Colorful & Reactive Again! It's so boring to watch PBA telecasts when everyone is just throwing a urethane ball down 2nd arrow, might as well watch 1980s black and white TV reruns.
Christ that's still one of the best releases on the planet
Has been. First 'huge' Hi-rev to hit the tour
@@JDubzDrumz I mean in this particular case I'm talking about Bob. But, the ball is getting solid looks all over the place for sure.
why cant he make a cut on the pba50 tour?
@@steve99912 unfortunately release isn't everything.
@@steve99912 he just turned 50, so I don’t think he’s even participated in that many PBA 50 tournaments yet, but I could be mistaking 🤷🏿♂️
Watching that man never gets old. To think he is still banging on it in his 50s is amazing.
I stopped bowling a few years ago but a Robert Smith video is still an immediate click. My favorite bowler to watch growing up
Come back to the fold , brother

Good to see Maximum Bob still making them pins fly.
Yes, it is for sure and I love the nickname "Maximum Bob". It truly does describe his bowling ability.
Man I remember Rob back in the 90s unreal talent and swing. Always a class act and fun to watch. Really glad to see him back supporting the sport.
Never gets old watching this man throw a ball and talk shop.
Thanks maximum Bob! Been a fan of you for years glad to see you back in the spotlight!!

So great to see maximum Bob again. Still has that powerful release.
Omg Maximum Bob. His swing, power and revs were unreal back when. It always looked like he was throwing a 6lb house ball, too much power! 😂❤
Bob is truly a good person. Every time I go into the proshop he listens and easy to talk to for good advice.
Where is his shop?

I like that you made the effort to match your jersey to the Vibe....very nice!!!!
This is a fantastic review. Robert's a pro and he puts the ball through its paces. Tells and shows us the balls assets and weaknesses.

Maximum Bob like always shredding pins and destroying the rack🔨🎳 💪🏼
Would love to see you this year at the high hopes tournament one of my favorite bowlers
Dude I watched your very first shot and I was just like….damn!!!!

Awesome ball and he's a beast
Hoist a beer to Maximum Bob, great info, like the look of that ball
Maximum bob is the man for any new release
How does it compare to the effect?❤
Looks like the Jigsaw Corner from back in the day !!!!
I wish yall would change up camera angles so i can analyze Robert’s physical game..
All rob is missing is a black leather jacket some shades and a Harley. He just got that look!!! ✌️
Thanks Maximum Bob! 👍

Maximum BOB!!!! OH HAPPY DAY😊😊😮🎉❤❤❤😊😊
What are your RPM's? I have always wanted to know that. 🙂
Still probably 500+. Not as high as in the early 2000s.
Hit 640 on TV in the 90s lol

How do you know how to layout your ball without a pap
you don't

So how does this guy do it without knowing it. Because I drill balls all the time and the first thing I get is the pap measurement

For House shots I think Hybrid is the way to go.
I mean it really depends on the ball and the house. A solid could be really clean and a pearl could be really early. You could have a hybrid of a clean solid and a clean pearl and have a clean ball.
