Great video James, when carrying out an eicr, would you now even attempt to test @500v between live conductors, given the increased vulnerable equipment list (usb sockets, led lighting smart controls etc). It is certainly getting harder to successfully remove often hidden items of equipment.

Not sure if I'm missing something, but when an item connect to a circuit tested at 250v dc, won't this show up as low resistance.

Hi Andrew,
If electronic equipment is still connected to a circuit when carrying out the insulation resistance test this will affect the outcome of the test, and it will look like there's low resistance between live and neutral.
