1st tip: doctor's order isn't always right.. always check for details like potassium levels and the amount ordered.. 2nd tip.. don't rely on other nurses work some nurses and they are many they do paper work so perfect that they miss some clinical details so please always take care during the shift report.. 3rd tip.. be strong nursing school helped us memories some info but you only pass and succeed when you use the right info in the right place during stress or an arrest... Hello! I'm a 3rd year nursing student in Canada, getting pretty anxious about being done so soon. Could you just tell me what it's like to be a graduate nurse, your first day on the job.. first week.. first patient, etc? And, do you work as a grad nurse before writing your NCLEX? And if you do get a job as a grad nurse, do you typically work at that same job once you're licensed? Thanks!

What are all the clinical skills that an RN can do. Lets say I just got done with nursing school to be just a registered nurse what are all the clinical skills would I be allowed to do like administering medication taking vital signs etc.
Hey guys I received a Masters Degree in sociology but decided not to continue on in the field. Now I am working on my prerequisites to get in to nursing school. I wanted to know, what kind of higher level opportunities available to be besides being a staff nurse. I am aiming for the BSN accelerated program. Any comments and thoughts are really helpful
Usually you see the order lets say its a medication you check for the 5 rights*right patient rights dose right timing and right route* so after double checking the order with the medication you go on to prepare this mediaction... some times if lets say your giving a nephrotoxic medication you have to check the chemistry and the trough of this medication if taken then you see the order and proceed for the 1st step I said.. it depends on the situation but always double check..

How often do new doctors orders show up. What unit do you spend the most time on. What is your favorite unit what is your least favorite.
