They made a mistake by going to a single cylinder !! Most people that buy a can am quad like myself have bought them for the V twin motor !! And most had a single cylinder quad years ago
ive got a 2006 can am 800 max and that thing is still ripping to this day, ive had to do a fuel pump, replace some rubber pieces that cover or hold stuff together, and i replaced my 4x4 switch and then brakes and fluids over time. shes a beast tho and i will probably go to the grave with her.
I sold my Ranger 500 and it was because of the room. I bought an hd7 to replace it a few months ago and we love it. I took that small 500 everywhere including Colorado and it did fine. Now the HD7 feels like a Corvette compared to the Polaris lol and I drive like a grandpa most of the time but it is still awesome to have that extra power when needed.
I actually don't mind that style on ATVs. The reason? Easy to get a small rachet and 8mm in somewhere than a big set of oil filter pliers or having to buy a 3/8" adapter. My Grizzly filter is a pain to get off when the dealer over-tqs the damn thing. Three bolts? No problem.
Very cool thanks for showing us!
Show the valves,!!!!
How they are adjusted!!
thats not the same oil filter on the other videos ive seen with the side panel removed? this is the engine from the commander maybe?

I have a rotax engine and v twin
@@z9zf142 I wouldn’t buy a single cylinder quad now after having a couple twin cylinder quads !!!

@@bubbafats6246 l have done 2 fuel pumps in my 2013 1k !! But the motor has been running great with no problems
FYI you can still buy a V-Twin quad from can-am , the 500/700 singles only replaces the 450 and 570
I want that in my man cave
ewwww.. i saw a chain in the gearbox.
The gear store must've run out of gears.
They should have left it a v twin so chould get more power out of it
This is probably mostly about pressing down prices.
@@PJ-xr8qw There’s no probably about it. It was a smart move.
It's not about power but usable power. Want too much power? They still sell that. This is good enough without breaking the bank
@@Dusdaddy Agreed

@@Dusdaddy MY 500 OUTLANDER YOU HAD TO TAKEOFF THE FLOORBOARD TO GET THE OIL FILTER OFF
@@Dusdaddy MY 850 SPORTSMAN IS RIGHT ON THE BOTTOM, EASY CLEAN AND QUICK
@@dskofich And this one looks even easier still. Not far from the oil dipstick and vertical so oil doesn't drain all over your fingers. Nice!
Cartridge oil filter is not at risk of getting punctured on the trail. The vertical setup for the filter on this new engine is nice.
