- I refer to TH-cam user reviews on all kinds of products - especially costly ones. If you're going to showcase a product with your unboxing, that's one thing. But I'm pretty tired of seeing useless "reviews" from people who have just received the product, telling me nothing more than I can already find on the manufacturer's website. Since I've had this product for over 2 years, and have used it daily, I thought I'd do a review of the product that can hopefully be meaningful and helpful.
Finally a review worth watching! Thanks for waiting, using it for an extended period of time, and then giving your input! As a consumer who researches everything first I appreciate that!
That tip about tossing in a jacket then closing the flap is a great idea. Thanks.
One of the great attributes about leather, and especially leather of this quality, is that once it loses its 'brand-spanking new' persona, it becomes wonderfully weathered and 'lived in'. I just love this brand: robust, eye-catching and user-friendly.
It's great to finally see a real world review of a saddleback product. I've been considering doing one about my large satchel. I agree with you about the unboxing videos. They don't really help much!
great feed back I'm going to purchase a bag from this company and cannot wait because i love a classic piece that the more it gets beat up the better it looks and tells a great story. I do think I'm going to purchase the front pocket briefcase i fancy the pockets. great video.
Great review. I am into 10 years with mine - the exact same and it is awesome , looks pretty much the same as yours after two years of heavy usage. Great tip re jacket.
My DCB briefcase is currently flying across the USA on its way to the UK. Can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the follow up video man.
I agree with you about useless "reviews" when a person has just barely received a product. How can anybody honestly review anything when the UPS truck isn't even down the block and around the corner yet? And I hate unboxing videos. Thanks for your review. I've been wanting a messenger bag and am even thinking of making one of my own.
Fantastic review, exactly what a review should be. Now off to order mine...
Got mine in 2010 too (large). Mostly agree w what you're saying. I had to get Saddleback to replace the hardware connecting the strap to the bag when it wore out last year. In general it's heavy, but you won't find a better made bag anywhere.
fyi, you can take he tail-end of your shoulder strap, double it over and stuff it back through the retaining loop in the other direction - it's tight at first but it will break in.
Totally agree with what you said in the first 2 minutes.
My chestnut classic briefcase slouches forward as well. I may post a 2nd year review as well when the time comes next year. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! If you end up doing a video on your satchel, please post it as a reply to this video. Take care,
I'm so with you bro. People label their video "review" but all they do is go information that can be found on the manufacturers website.
Rather than using twine to hold the strap end along the rest of the strap is there a reason you can't fold it under that fixed loop like you've got the two front straps looped?
Purchased this exact one for my fiancé a month ago. It's amazing but I can't wait till it gets broken in. I can't stand how stiff it is.
th-cam.com/video/qc34zkC31-E/w-d-xo.html This is my video of what I call adventure mode for the Saddleback Leather Classic Large Briefcase. Let me know what you think. I feel like people really haven't made a video like this one yet. Great video by the way! Bag still looks good!
Nice review. Whats the size of your bag and laptop?
This video has persuaded me to get one. Is it a dark coffee brown one in your vid?
Do you have trouble placing this under an airline seat? XL, yea?
Good choice, 33 Strategies of War, Have you read Mastery yet?
You mention "snooze" in the video, what is it? I travel a lot for business and am always on the look out for good travel products.
Suns, as in Swedish smokeless tobacco. It's not a travel product, per se, but if you're a smoker or you like to distract yourself on trips, this is a great product.
I think he means Snus
Hi! Is this large or xl briefcase?
The humidity might cause the leather to rot over time.
What color is this? Dark Coffee?
how do you lock it?
Good 2-year-break-in video. To me, from what I see on this video, bag gets better-looking with some wear and tear. Thanks, homie.
Great reason to do a review, & not I boxing, thank you.
What colour is this one? Coffee or Chestnut?
Dark Coffee Brown, I have the same one, mine is a large and fits a 17" macbook pro. excellent product. The twine he used is the same for mine, I fold my strap, they have "Utility straps" available and some of those will remove the strap issue, or, a luggage tag from saddlebackleather.com will keep that strap closed.
what color and size is this?
Hope you replaced your fire alarm battery.
whats your real question?
Wow, really nice wear.
What size laptop?
Camera could use better focusing/lighting...started giving me a headache =/
That said, thanks for the perspective! It's good to get the long term look of how the bag holds up.
How's your bag holding up Xak?
***** It's performing as you'd expect, really well. Although I don't do a lot of heavy use with it. How about yours?
My shoulder pads slide on me but other than that, great.
it seems that the scuff marks are inevitable. sigh...
Use Chamberlin's leather conditioner from the website- restore like new! But marks make the bag. I best the shit out of mine on a regular basis, California, New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, Vietnam, Beijing and lots of other places; my true travel mate! DCB Large bought in 2009!
Snus? Svensk?
This review could have been 1/10th as long. You repeated yourself about 10 times throughout.
