you dont get medals for kills anyway. 99% of medals are bullshit like "Despite fierce opposition, they led Charlie Squad to Filtration, and ultimately proved victorious against the XX-121 Xenomorph threat" which doesn't actually list a specific achievement, and is probably just the CO's butt buddy. I didn't get a medal for killing a half dozen xenos and OBing the queen as a squad engi. I did get a medal for soloing elder empress on LV beach and wounding her enough for sadar to run up and rocket her, but even that was mostly because Windhealer was generous with medals.
