Great point Trevor made…Nas definitely struck a great balance between reminiscing on the past and giving advice for the future. AND he did it in a way that didn’t come off as condescending or preachy, which can be tough to do. He’s really embraced this mentor figure in hip hop and disproved the notion that it’s only a young man’s game
I grew up listening to Nas. He’s like a sage on the top of a mountain that comes down and gives you knowledge and then goes back on top of the mountain. This was said about him back in the 90s and he still true of him today he’s the gold standard
This is the most comfortable I’ve seen him on this type of platform. It’s awesome to see him this way. Like he let his guard down and is sharing a different side of himself. Great to see

with this album he solidified that he is the goat, listening to it it took me back the rap era of late 90s/2000s, that classic nas NY feel. every track is amazing, no skipping on this album, the beats and the lyrics are incredible.
The least thing I would imagine in 1994 is that 2022 would come and I would still be listening to hip hop, and that young guy that just dropped Illmatic would be ruling it and dropping hot albums at such a pace. What a career, Nasir.
