I really apppreciate how positive and informative these videos are. Just watched someone rag on big companies for not making an MMO and then say there isn't any content without mentioning the studios that are working hard to build things
Have you heard of Freeland? It has tons of mmo features as well if that’s what you like. I personally just love being able to fly spaceships and stuff in game.
Illysia is still very hard to play, as combat (even picking up your weapon) is super unsatifiying. Its cool for the big world and I played through what they have for now but it needs to go a long way still to be playable and enjoyable for everyone who is not a vr mmo enthusiast. For now even Orbus is still the more enjoyable game.
Have you tried freeland? It's labeled as a galactic online adventure game instead of a VRMMORPG. It's pretty fun but a bit different compared to other games. It's still a early access and a work in progress but very respondents devs!
I would like it if we can use other magic than just fireblade. I would love to be a sword fighter and use all the different forms of magic. Sounds like a cool, at least it can be a cool, game.
Zeniths issue was it was badly mismanaged from the get go. Bunch of kids new to the industry got a large chunk of funding and proceeded to choose on of the most expensive area's they could find to operate out of and constantly wasted runway money on stupid crap. No monetization model would of saved that dumbster fire.
I like zenith and I am sad to hear it's going. I think the one thing I'd have liked more of in the game would be more grappling hook use in the main map, once you get passed the starting island and want to see the world in full the grappling hook felt useless and it was my favourite feature.
We really need a sandbox open world vr mmo with combat like blade and sorcery. Zenith was too linear and sword combat was really weird, felt more like playing drums than swinging a sword because of that timing thing.
Except that isn't balance around an MMO that's just multiplayer anyway and there's a few competitors for that in the sense of dungeons and other things
They literally said on the video they have no intention of shutting the servers down all they said was that they weren’t going to update the game anymore 💀
@@Matthew-si8dv no they said they will be shutting the game down in a few months and will be giving us a few updates until then. They said also that the game will be basically running and definitely while they work on a new project.
I liked Zenith's log-in music. But I'm not into modern/ sci-fi aesthetics. The game wasn't for me. I have fond memories of enjoying their combat. But the setting simply wasn't it for me. I'm waiting for a VR MMO or co-op with housing that has ESO's graphics or better.
Ascent quest is for you then. Check them out, they have dessert forests and also mushroom biomes that literally remind me of ESO (except the sky anchors) 😂
i just wish people would take the time to make a finished product every new game that comes out theses days are good but there always full of glitches and bugs and then when people try to tell the developers, we are called haters todays stander for games is horrific i would rather wait 5 years then get a shit game in 3 years take a little extra time. i know i know all the yes men call it and quote "we don't believe in burnout culture" well I'm sure if you guys just spent 8 hours a day 5 days a week actually working on the game we would actually get some where but people don't have pride any more it always about money look at zenith and contractor's showdown there still in betas and yet they added all kinds of new content but with more bugs and more glitch's it sucks really cause there both amazing games at the core
ilysia is still very poor at the moment but the guys are working hard and fixed totally broken stuff like stairs and airships. ascentquest looks nice but I remember it's not totally mmo. eldramoor could be a good project, but since there are zenith developers involved I'm scared 😅
My observation of VRMMO's as of yet is that they lack any inspiration. Its almost as if their developers don't actually game or are simply using VR as an excuse to put out a bland game and put little effort into it conceptually or artistically. every one of them has had incredibly basic crafting and trade systems. They need to ask themselves 2 questions. Would anyone want to play this if it wasn't VR and does it matter that it is an MMO instead of coop or single player? They then need to build it to work with a payment model in mind. give people a reason to by things or plan to have constant growth and engagement with a strong community. At all cost avoid subscription model that will kill any growth for a Indie developer.
Eh, Zenith was really bad anyways, its combat was garbo. Its sad for the people who did like it or had friends on it but I don't think its a huge loss.

You did a really good job with the coverage on ascent quest i love seeing videos on this game
I play Ilysia and really enjoy it!:)
My dad loves EverQuest I play it to and he’s one of the top guilds
Been playing everquest for like 25 years lol
I hope I can be a magic swordsman when I play. That would be awesome
Well lucky for you if you didnt know thats a class in ascent quest called fireblade
Still cant wait for ascent quest just waiting to hear words on when the alpha starts
The only news we have so far is that the alpha will be in 2025 Q1-Q2
I sometimes woder if doing something in the style of Phantasy Star Online might make more sense for VR.
It would yeah. Been wanting a VRMMO like PSO1 for years.

Yeah freeland is an awful politician with a squeeky voice here in Canada. She needs to go along with Trudeau.
I tried Ilysia and couldn't even figure out the first wand spell. Hopefully they have improved it.

Thanks for this comment. I glossed over it without reading the description and really needed something new.

What are your thoughts on riff XR and is it a vrmmo

100% they didn't listen to any feedback and kept taking away everything everyone loved

You can't say the words EverQuest VR without putting a link somewhere
Are you f****** serious bro there is a EverQuest VR?
Have you heard of Eldramoor?
i have not
Until VR games give the player a full body, modded Skyrim will be the ultimate leader.

@@ShadowEnigmaTV I'm confused. Is Ascent Quest out now?

Ramen VR is dead to me, took the money and ran.

I regret buying zenith....🫠
