11:42 Your female companion had a bit of trouble understanding the girls selling tortillas because Spanish is their second language. Their native tongue is one of many mayan languages of Guatemala. They laugh because for a local is a bit funny the barriers of language, but it comes from a good place. It's very cool that you found fascinating the peculiarities of this amazing country.

Yoo! Thanks for showing my country to the world bro. There's lots of more places that you can visit where you can shoot bomb pictures man. I stay near Antigua Guatemala, let me know if you would like to visit. I'm not a youtuber but I've been all around the world too. Let me know if you want to stop by, and we'll be more than glad to host you guys.
Bendiciones y cuidense 🙏🙏 nice video, but be careful the neighborhood you guys walk around with, specifically with that camera! I'M glad you guys are trying local food and just keep an open mind!
Pupusas are a traditional dish in Guatemala but mostly street food. The difference between El Salvador pupusas is the cheese, both have different cheese. Pupusas also have different names in Guatemala (pishtones, tayuyos etc)
One more thing about Guatemalans not showing much emotion is because we are just a few years from being at war with each other for over 30 years. I guess that might have a bit to do with not expressing emotions.
The girls from Quiché are from a specific mayan group in Guatemala. Each of the 22 mayan groups have their own dialect and clothing. They are almost half of the country's population. Mexican style tacos are not as good as in mexico here. What we traditionally call "tacos" are something similar to a flauta. The guatemalan equivalent to a mexican taco we just call tortilla with meat, adobo, chorizo, chicharron, or whatever (and more obscure fillings depending on where you go). They are usually chunkier pieces of meat, and we put toppings like avocado, radish, grilled onion or chirmol (similar to salsa tatemada in mexico).
At 16:27 dont get offended by the friendly guy that said *mi chino* we as Guatemalans have the funny bad habit of telling people from asia or asian ethnic characteristics *Chino* ... 😅 Even if theyre from the US , Peru , Japan , Korea ,Taiwan ... We nailed it if theyre from China Tho 😊
