this was so fun to watch!! i recently got a job offer from starbucks and i was wondering how was your experience starting out? was it hard to memorize the recipes? this would be my first ever job so I'm afraid I'll mess up a lot 😭 i also saw a lot of people complaining about the work experience, so i'm afraid it'll be too overwhelming for me ;;
ok so im not a barista, so im not going to give you an exact answer, but ive been reaserching about the job. if they offered you a trial shift, it'll just be like testing out everything n stuff. the job requires you to be on the move a lot, so when comfy shoes, like sneakers. and, make sure to check the dress code too. from what i've seen, it's basically just wear neutral colors. the drink memorizing depends, and espicially if you're new, mistakes are bound to happen and it's fine if you mess up. it can take anywhere from 1 month and a half to 4 months to memorize the drinks, but ive heard it''s a ton of fun after you've got the swing of things. make sure to do your own research though!!
My experience starting out was definitely not normal because I was switching back and forth between North Carolina, where I go to college, and Indiana, where I live. Honestly, memorizing just comes with time and speed also comes with time so there’s no need to stress about that. As for the work experience, when I worked in North Carolina, it was terrible. My coworkers and bosses were very fond of workplace bullying. But my coworkers and bosses in Indiana are some of the nicest people I’ve met. It really just depends on what location you’re at! I hope you’re at a good one!
After you got hired how long did it take to start actually working? They extended an offer yesterday at the interview and said HR would call me to discuss pay (and I’m assuming my start date) but I went all day yesterday and today waiting for a call and still nothing 😭
Unfortunately, it took me a while. I can say first hand that Starbucks isn’t the quickest. The background check takes a little while so it probably took 2 weeks before I started working. Also, don’t stress!! I know it’s stressful, it would make me worried 😂 but they will call! Hopefully today!

I got hired by the Starbucks at my university. It's a licensed store, so it's a little different. But it only took me 4 days to start my training from the day I did my interview

I wish I could film a video of a closing shift for you but I'm studying abroad right now :( So, I'll give you a list (which is everything i can think of off the top of my head so I might be forgetting things.) - Sweeping and Mopping the Floors - Cleaning the Mats under the espresso bars - Pilling the espresso bars and washing their parts - throwing out anything that will expire overnight - doing dishes - turning the ovens off and cleaning them - throwing out the food in the pastry case - restocking everything - cleaning the counters - cleaning the restrooms - cleaning the inside of the fridges - cleaning the sticky mess of the frappucino station - washing the syrup holders because they get so sticky - washing the syrup pumps because they also get sticky - cleaning the drains for the sinks - making cold brew for the next day - dumping the tea pitchers and washing them - cleaning the coffee makers - making whips for the next day - making mocha, white mocha, caramel, whip cream, etc for the next day - unpacking a new order if there is one - counting the number of milks in the fridges - restocking the fridges Okay that's all i can remember. I hope that was helpful!

They never let me do anything besides window. So, this video was recorded when I was at the one close to home where i was able to do fun things like bar. However, I wasn't there for very long to be taught how to clean the ice machine.
Oooh that’s a difficult one. I really loved the salted caramel mochas but they’re gone now :( so I love to get half white mocha and half pistachio or chestnut praline if they’re available!

I would love to work there on weekends but dealing with customers especially rude ones and using the register seems so scary
It is a little scary at first but the longer you work there, the more confident you get and the less scary it seems!
