Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI Install 1971 Ford Maverick Part 1

  • First part of the installation of the Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI kit in my 1971 Ford Maverick with a 302 small block
    Steps
    1. Drain coolant
    2. Remove upper radiator hose from thermostat housing
    3. Remove thermostat housing and thermostat
    4. Remove Distributor clamp bolt and distributor
    5. Remove vacuum lines and throttle cable from carburetor and manifold
    6. Remove Carburetor bolts and carburetor
    7. Remove Intake manifold bolts and manifold
    8. Clean old gasket off
    9. Apply RTV around ports on head and 1/4" thick bead on front and back ledge
    10. Place gasket on heads and apply RTV around ports on gasket
    11. (Recommended) Use 2 threaded studs as alignment pins
    12. Install intake manifold and torque bolts in sequence in 3 steps, first go around to 10 ft lbs, second time to 18 ft lbs, third time to 24 ft lbs.

    Use gaskecinch and the gaskets don’t move.

    Just out of curiosity. From all the different types of Efi systems out there, what made you choose the Pro-Flo 4?

      The kicker for me was the concept of the fuel injectors being right above the intake ports instead of up in the throttle body, and I liked the complete kit idea (except for a separate fuel supply kit) After I finish the install and drive it a bit I will be doing an overview video
