My Return style fuel system setup for my EFI conversion. I used Edelbrock's Pro Flo 4 EFI kit for my 302 in my 1971 Ford Maverick. That is original I have the same. Thanks for the vid btw, been having trouble with trash pulling through to my fuel pump. Had to buy a new tank and replace the whole thing. But yea that's original. Mines a 72 maverick.

Mine had an aftermarket auto parts store light so I'm not sure what the oem style is or how yours is but I recommend you find how it is mounted first, could be from the inside of the valence with screws or clips

The only thing I hate about these trucks is every year they got a different electrical connection on the damn alternator. You got a two pin and then you got totally two different for pin connectors.

Amazon! 1 pump strainer I found in stock at my local auto parts store and the other I had to order in since it was a dual pump setup. Let me know what you're looking for in particular I can provide part numbers and/or links
Can you remove the neck without removing the tank. My tank is good but the neck has an issue.
It may be possible but tough to remove the neck without lowering the tank, the neck on mine was a pretty tight fit into the tank seal
@maverickwerks671 awesome thank you. Also do you know how to get the gauge cluster out I took out the screws but it still doesn't want to give and I don't want to break anything.
Yes you have to unclip the speedometer cable, I was able to get my hand through the ashtray slot (removed ashtray cover and ashtray metal tray first) its a really tight fit and you will scrape your arm up for sure but once you get your hand on the speedometer cable you'll feel where it mounts to the guage cluster

Keep the stock tail lights! They are Iconic to the lightning and look fantastic. Put bigger fuel pumps in while you are in there you will need them.

Its been great! Only issue I have came across recently was a slight overheating issue and I believe that may be my timing slightly off as I timed the distributor by ear without a timing light. I will have to get one and accurately time it and see if that resolves the issue

That O2 is in the way wrong location
If I remember correctly the centerline of the o2 sensor needs to be in a 10-15 degrees incline of a horizontal line. I don't remember what exact degree I ended up on but it was as close as I could get with getting a drill in to bore out the hole big enough for the sensor to fit in. I do plan on installing new exhaust pipe so the bung will get welded in at that point

This is something you might want to consider. I had a 71 Maverick with a 428 Cobra Jet about 30 years ago (yes, I'm old. lol) and it had 68 Cougar tail lights with sequential's. They fit perfect and look bad ass.
I own a 1976 Ford Maverick, and so far i have been working on patching the floor pans, i have half of a 302 built. My maverick was a straight six 250, so i need to get motor mounts that bolt in place for a 302 swap. I need to get a new rear axle. The fuel tank needs to be replaced. I need to get a new C4 automatic transmission.
Good video. I wasn't sure if there was a third bolt in the back. You answered that question for me. One small tip; use some WD-40 around the places where the alternator makes contact with the bracket. I pulled mine out and got the new one in in a matter of a couple of minutes.
I'm also interested in the amber valance lights.

Very cool. While I don't have a car to work it on yet, I've been putting together a plan for a Maverick project. I really want it to have sequential tail lights. T birds had them, Shelby Mustangs had them, and I once had both a '68 and '69 Cougar...and of course both had them. Late model Mustangs, too of course. Few things are more Ford than sequential turn signals.

Auto crafters sells Maverick parts they have everything you need. The lights you put in grill were never turn signals they are sport lights on the grabber. The ones under the front bumper are turn signal hope that helps otherwise look on e-bay. for parts WWW.maverickcometclub.org may be able to help you with parts
