      We visited Ndutu in mid-February for 3 nights staying at a tent camp overlooking Lake Ndutu where we could hear the Flamingos. We saw so many lions that we stopped taking photos unless there was something unusual. Saw big male lions stealing kills from cheetahs, cheetahs with kills, hyenas with kills - it was amazing. Lots of lions (females and young males only - big males are too big) up in trees - great photos. spent a whole late afternoon doing nothing but the flamingos right below our camp. I plan on doing it again but a little bit earlier as we were maybe one week or so late for the calving. Lots of young still had umbilical cords attached. One sad event that we witnessed was when a few wildebeest with many young ones crossed the lake at a narrow point. before they got to the far side, the adults decided to turn back. all but one of the young ones could be seen slowly disappearing below the surface of the water as their strength gave out. (10-15 calves) - then it was off to the other side of the white pillars and the Serengeti

    Yes, it is. I knew it before... have been at Ndutu a long time ago, and have been in both Ngorongoro and Serengeti more recently ...
    And know again, your photos in the end of the video (I have yet only seen the there first ones.) The first and the third was truly all you need to say it is worth it.

    +Pangolin Wildlife Photography This is really cool beautiful and majestic. Tanzania is one of East Africa’s great countries with good wildlife from Ndutu, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, The Mahale mountains and to Gombe Stream and Issa Valley. I hope you’re gonna do Kenya and the Uganda (The pearl of Africa) next!

    Great footage!
    I will go there in February. One question. You mentioned you had a filming permit. Do I really need one, when just taking pictures and filming with my camera as a tourist?

    • @robertkeyghobad2981
      @robertkeyghobad2981 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As a tourist you do not need a film permit - which is for commercial use, allowing the film crew access to areas normally off limit.

    Hi Janine, I normally travel in southern Africa. I am definitely considering this trip with you folks. Can you tell us, please, which lenses you folks found most useful on your Ndutu plains safari? Thanks!

    • @robertkeyghobad2981
      @robertkeyghobad2981 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve been a few times to Ndutu and unlike Kruger, the open/vastness of the area would normally require a lot of reach (600mm or more). But since Ndutu is in a conversation, unlike a nation park in TZ, you can drive off road (excluding the crater floor). I would strongly recommend bringing 2 bodies and covering yourself from 100-600mm. My primary lenses when going on safari and my Z 400mm 2.8TC, 70-200mm 2.8 and an external 1.4TC which covers me from 70-784mm. Looking at my photos from Ndutu roughly 45% of them were taken with the 70-200mm and the rest with the 400mm.
