Went to high school in Texas. Lots of Aggies fans kept telling me that ND didn’t even deserve to be there. I bet as many of them as I could. They are some humble pie, but they all paid. Got em the next year too. Lol
This was a terrific team. Started the season a little rocky but by the end they were as good as anybody. Totally dominated an undefeated Texas aggie team that had a tremendous defense
Nice to give the Aggies a yummy plate of humble pie. Notre Dame spent the entire year fighting tougher teams while A&M was undefeated against mediocre teams and somehow squeezed by Stanford.
My wife and I flew in for this game from New Jersey, it was without a doubt the coldest game I have ever attended. Was not expecting single digits at kickoff. Loved the run game with Bettis and Brooks.
This Texas A&M team may gave finished the regular season undefeated but really have not faced a team with the talent and team speed of Notre Dame. Notre Dame dominated the Aggies in the trenches both offensively and defensively and that was the main difference in this game.
I’ve always said that too. They were very similar to the 2009-2014 era Alabama teams under Saban. Physically dominant, they would just brutalize their opponents.
We were in Florida visiting the grandparents for the first time at their new house down there. Getting a Super Nintendo for Christmas and then ND dominating this game made for a great Christmas break.
This A&M team was undefeated but had only played one ranked team all season and that was the season opener back in August. They also weren't dominant against the pitiful opposition in the old Southwest Conference so this outcome was not that surprising. They hadn't played anyone even close to the caliber of Notre Dame.
@@10tepeyac. The SWC was on Borrowed Time anyway after the whole SMU Situation. Plus another big reason they was about to dominate the SWC for so Many Years was because Texas sucked.
27:26-27:32: If that happened in Today’s College Football? Both of them would have been ejected🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿 The Bus for talking shit and Bates for the hard hit.
@@pjmac550355 You know College Football is softer than Toilet Paper Today. You can’t even have fun with a flag being thrown and worse a mild-big hit is enough for someone to get ejected and have to mix the first half of the next game🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿 Its sad. Basketball and Football has both gotten soft in today’s world.
They avenged the loss the last time they met. Gosh the Aggies were so overrated and full of themselves after being undefeated against a whole set of mediocre teams.
Aggies had dominant defense then couldn't get the offense rolling as in FlaSt cotton also. But they had excellent defense. Took them to this point. Undefeated that year so yes they did dominate.

Aggie Fans are some of the worst.
@@allengreene9954 Yes they truly are

How did they start the season a little rocky? They won their first 11 games!
@@pjmac550355He’s talking about Norte Dame.

And Ironically Notre Dame’s only Loss was to Stanford.

Imagine having Reggie Brooks and Jerome Bettis in today's game!! Those dudes were studs
Imagine if Bettis would have stayed for his Senior year. That FSU game wouldn't have even been close!
@@mikegroat7732 And it really wasn't that close lol
They couldn't stop The Bus.

Last cotton bowl played on turf!
ND would have benefited with a 4 team playoff. By the end of year, had the best team multiple years.

Nice analogy until you play a top 25 opponent we don't know how good you are
I hear you. I lived in Texas and was sick and tired of this overrated and mediocre team thinking they were so amazing.

First Cotton Bowl in 88 for Lou Holtz Notre Dame didn't go well.Later Cotton Clashes with Aggies went better
Was that MC Hammer at the end?

They were OVERRATED. Bunch of cocky and obnoxious Texans

They didn't belong but they crushed them
