The mighty Bobcat knows no fear!! I swear by mine mate 🤣🤣🤣 pitch that sideways into the wind and it doesnt budge.. but if the wind changes direction its like a sail and likely to take off with you in it lol

Enjoyed that. Sat in the warm eating my breakfast. Looks like you had it in a decent direction. I had my Elixr 3 up in 30mph winds coming straight at the porch, seemed much worse than a bit of side on. Ok for me, I avoid strong winds like the plague. Looked pretty brutal at the end there. Had to smile at you hope of getting some Astro in. Very optimistic. Cheers mate, fair play all.
Cheers Chris, apart from the sat in the warm bit (have you been to the school of Gordon Jackson)? 😂😂 I will def be avoiding strong winds in the Elixir from now on, but it still kept me safe. Yes, think I was a bit optimistic with the astro, but Mr Wild Astro had his go pro out all night and reckons he's got some. We will see, his vid out at 5pm today. When in those conditions my plan B is to have a walking pole so if the tent flattens I have a pole to keep the fabric up off my face and see the night through with a big flappy bivvy lol
Yes mate just a bit 😂 it's def not made for those type of winds. Bent the Poles and must have been rubbing on the fly as it made a hole in it. Luckily it didn't rain 😂. MSR have kindly offered to repair it under the warranty, so can't argue with that. Thanks for the comment ATB Paul 👍
😂 yeah was a bit wild. Elaine was in a naturehike cloud up 1 as well. 1 guy snapped but she hung in there. Richard was in the blacklabel soulo that didn't move an inch. 😂. Mate it was bloody freezing 🥶 yes if you pitch it correctly with the wind should be fine. However I wouldn't like to be in the bobcat if the wind changed, think it'd take off 😂😂. MSR repaired my tent fully after this, so big respect to them for doing that. They even supplied me with more guy lines as a freebie. Thanks for watching, ATB Paul
I had my Elixer 1 out in 40mph winds before xmas. Its a fantastic and very roomy tent. It was at its limit though I reckon and I probably won't deliberately take it out in those sirts if winds again It survived OK, apart from having a bit of a permanent bend in one of the poles.
Yeah I don't think I'll take mine out again in those conditions. Was def at its limit. Great tent, just more a 3 season for slightly calmer weather. ATB Paul 👍

Will you consider making an interim home video on your load out for this trip as I can't get my kit less than 19 Kgs, but that is with 2 litres of water and I don't have MRE's or Boil in the Bag stuff. The embroidered hat is from Clothes 2 order, I had a baseball cap done at same time. The wooly hat is definitely better though. Yep I can imagine with all that booze it's gonna be 19kg 😂😂. Nowadays I usually just take water and coffee, 2 litres of water and my MSR Trailshot filter for anymore. I cant drink as it is, so i don't fancy getting off a mountain with a hangover 😂. I'm really impressed with the microphone adapter on the osmo pocket, it was £40 and then I needed a mic which £16 off amazon. But the difference it makes is huge, I couldn't believe it when I downloaded the clips. Thanks for comment, hope your well. ATB Paul 👍

I bent my Poles and ripped one of the guys. The flysheet also suffered some damage underneath. It's only a 3 season tent really, so my own fault. At least it kept me safe. Elaine had a guy snap and Rich was in the Soulo, so he had no damage. That thing was in its natural environment 😂 Thank you so much for watching ATB Paul 👍
