"lost" Run DMC production was brought back to life courtesy of Def Jam - originally issued in 1985 it was released under the "Hollis Crew" moniker as they weren't allowed to release any material outside of their contract with Profile. "It's The Beat" is a classic, super-sparse hip-hop/electro joint with killer production from Mizell, Simmons and Rick Rubin
Still a great tune!! It's a shame Def Jam lost interest in these guys & there was no follow up 12" or LP. Can you imagine, a whole LP, produced by Rick, Run & Jay? That would've been tuff!

I remember Music Choice! I used to LOVE listening to classic hip-hop channel all the time back when my family used to have DirecTV.
