Lamar doesn't fit into any particular category, and there's a reason for that. His work multifacetedly combines the quality of lyrics and storytelling, the conceptual value of the albums and musical content. I think that's why Kendrick is defined as one of the greatest right now - he's just everything that's great about what rap can be. It would be a mistake to label him as just a “storyteller” or a “lyricist.” In this situation, if we put Lamar into a category, it would be something in the style of “multi-faceted value” - obviously he is not the only one who deserves it, but this is the most suitable category for defining K-Dot.
this is true, obviously kdot is a great lyricist but he is not at the technical level of someone like Eminem or Nas. He's got great rapping performances but he cannot match the flows of biggie and the delivery of pac. He fits into the Kanye category of not being the best in the technical aspects but being the best in the artistic aspect, that's exactly why we love kendrick's albums, they are experiences
@@jaycyclondo More flows, more double and triple entendres etc. Nas is one of my favourite rappers but I'll always give the edge to Em cause he is more complex and a little bit more diverse.
@@donev_ i disagree with ‘more flows’, more entendres, sure, but a majority of them dont mean a thing at all whereas nas has impeccable substance to his songs. Nas also has the longevity factor, being regarded as a top level mc from the 90’s up until today where he is still claiming aoty titles. Nas’ beat selection has also got an edge over ems, i havent rly loved an eminem beat since relapse whereas nas has consistently had good beats since 2018 (the the 2000’s were a rly rough time for his production choices).

Wayne gotta take it for the comedy bro easily
Ye should be mentioned for comedy, some of his bars are just so outta pocket 😭

Kid Cudi for Hooks???

Features for sure Wayne but I’d never thought I’d see him for Albums . Not surprised though because he dropped C2 , C3 and C4 which were the best albums of those years whether that’s in sales and numbers or just in general.
Watching this vid post-beef is crazy: the way the public’s perception of drake has changed is CRAZYYY (Kendrick opened our eyes and ears)

It would be a mistake to label him as just a “storyteller” or a “lyricist.”
In this situation, if we put Lamar into a category, it would be something in the style of “multi-faceted value” - obviously he is not the only one who deserves it, but this is the most suitable category for defining K-Dot.
Sha boing boing Kendrick doesn’t fit on the list because he doesn’t do anything better than anyone on here
this is true, obviously kdot is a great lyricist but he is not at the technical level of someone like Eminem or Nas. He's got great rapping performances but he cannot match the flows of biggie and the delivery of pac. He fits into the Kanye category of not being the best in the technical aspects but being the best in the artistic aspect, that's exactly why we love kendrick's albums, they are experiences
kanye is up there for comedy, some of the bars are insane
The fact that Eminem is a high up or top 3 in every single category just shows how good he actually is. Tied with Nas for the GOAT status
theres no way eminem is close to top 3 for albums, features, hooks, evolution, versatility, singing or adlibs at all. The other few, yeah.
Eminem is better than Nas
@@donev_ how?
Mac millers evolution over jay z kanye and tyler should be a crime
1. Lyrics - Kendrick Lamar
2. Features - Kendrick Lamar
3. Hits - Kanye west (a large part of drakes features are not rap songs)
4. Beat selection - Kanye
5. Albums - Kanye (if you care about longevity/quality ratio), Kendrick (if you want consistent quality)
6. Flow - Eminem
7. Hooks - kid cudi
8. Comedy - Eminem
9. Evolution - Tyler the creator
10. Versatility- Childish Gambino
11. Singing - lauren hill
12. Ad libs - migos
no og rapper?
@@laser9721 lauren hill is kinda og but I honestly think that people are giving too much credit to them and it"s mostly coz of nostalgia and the fact that they're dead. Although I agree that legends like tupac and biggie are in the top 10, u have to make room for some new (often more skilled) rappers like kendrick lamar, whom I would call the greatest rapper of all time and if he would die more people would be giving him that title ngl
maybe maybe@@oskaradamczyk113
Props to Lu for mentioning Aesop Rock. His vocabulary, story telling and use of metaphors is next level.
You guys need to do a review of his new album, AOTY in my opinion

@@BACKDOORBROWNIE710 listen and break down the lyrics of Gopher Guts. One of the best written songs of all time.
Crazy how nas can pretty much ace all categories old or new
Childish Gambino for versatility is not a hot take at all, hes a able to switch genres everytime he drops and he kills it everytime
not sure why xxxtentacion wasn’t mentioned for versatility. that would be my pick, from singing, rock, r&b, boom bap, rage/sad/hype/hit songs it’s hard to disregard him. ‘ ? ‘ album summarizes his range
Versatility means you can bring different moods too, X just took all those genres and made them depressing😭
@@cristianchavez5313 fucking facts 😂😂😂
the moment versatility came up, the first name that came to mind was gambino. most versatile rapper I've ever seen in the game by FAR.

Durk is not touching Wayne in Features …
@@AnonymousALAH Lil Durk is the best feature artist in the modern hip hop era, there is no way you said Durk is not touching Lil Wayne features, Durk has better features
@@korey.dcoleman Wayne the goat of features dawg . Durk don’t even got the same intentions as Wayne . Wayne wanna hop on a feature and rip heads off and make the song his . Durk definitely don’t got the features run like Wayne . Literally look up rapper with best best feature run of all time and it’ll show you Wayne on there too . Wayne a monster and nobody do is better . Durk like Wayne sun . Wayne would destroy any fuckin body on a feature; he proved time and time again he’s the greatest rapper of all time . He’s even been hoping on recent features and washing everyone just like he did back then . After all , Durk look up to Wayne Mr. “Smurk Carter”. In my opinion 21 Savage takes adlips, his delivery and consistency make every song so much better
He only says pussy
Id like to add Feestyle as a category and Harry Mack is the king of this one!
Young Nudy probably one of the most underrated rappers itw, his beat selection is MAD 🔥
Not picking andre3k or even mentioning him for versatility is criminal
how did y'all not even mention zack fox for comedy 😭💀
billy woods has the most versatility at being able to rap over any beat
That’s insane for Wayne to not be #1 feature artist , you can’t tell me Jay z or J Cole was hopping on everyone’s track and destroying everyone and making it theirs . He also has some of the most feature of all time . Jay z or Cole can’t even f with Wayne in that category, nobody can really that’s bonkers. Wayne could literally hop on their song and body them themselves if he wanted to . Not even just back then but Wayne has features now too that he’s took over this year .
People forget how many hits Kanye really has, he could go 50 for 50 and wipe Drake but aight
people on the street cannot name 3 kanye songs off the top of their head but aight 😂
@@qlip that's not what decides whether a song is a hit or not
Lupe over Nas, not as an artist, but pure lyrics.
great video concept.
I'm surprised Ant didn't mention Gunna for flow 😭
Big L should have gotten comedy imo. Thought provoking, shit talking and still very funny.
“Once a burglar broke into my house and I robbed him”
“And mad hoes, ask beavis I get nothing but head”
“If Big L got the AIDS every cutie in the city got it, once a brother tried to stick me for 6 G’s and I put more holes in his ass than Swiss cheese”
“A lotta rappers talk that murder shit and couldn’t kill time”
“Step to this and get shanked up, I knocked so many teeth out the tooth fairy went bankrupt”
“If my girl thinks I’m loyal then that bitch is a fool” always make me crack up
Migos for ad-libs. The momma ad-lib is legendary.
I’ve honestly never payed attention to a kendrick ad lib before lol. I mean until this episode I didn’t know kendrick did ad libs lmao

I think Recency Bias hits hard for Cole, because at the end i think Kendrick is the better one. Control, Freedom, Nosetalgia, Wats Wrong, the Tribe Song, Black Hippy Remix, No more parties in LA, Really Doe, Collard Greens, Wow Freestyle, Yeah Right, Mona Lisa, Look over your Shoulder and i can go on. He hasnt dropped a feature in the last years but he is one of the greatest Feature artists of all time and better than Cole. Look at all those Masterpieces of Songs.
If we are talking about comedy in rap music, then it's eminem, but if we are talking about personal comedy, it's Tyler
