Just a suggestion: they're called "Apps" not "Applications". The word "Application" is usually reserved for desktop software as they are larger versions. I'm making this suggestion not because I'm trying to be a dick. It will actually improve your approval ratings with respect to English speaking viewers, and the smartphone community as a whole. Best to embrace the correct smartphone lingo if you'd like to get better ratings.

So you're basically stating the obvious.
They actually aren' the same. Although one is derived from the other, they cannot be used interchangeably in tech conversations. There's a subtle difference in the tech world. The two terminologies have their respective place in the tech world. The term "App" was actually coined in the smartphone era, to differentiate smartphone/mobile device applications from desktop applications.
And I agree the phone is great.
