In this video, we look at how medicines are discovered and tested. We look at the idea of preclinical and clinical testing and then what is meant by a placebo and a double-blind trial.

Great video , so what is the actual point of a double-blind trial ?

Neither the doctor or the patient knows if the drug is a placebo or a real one. This elimanates bias as the doctor might be more focused on a particular patient because they know that they were administered the actual drug.

Its not completely random. The doctors don't know but thw drug company do. They all find out once the trials are over.

peer review is only for evaluating data and how accurate/reliable it is. That's why it isn't used for testing medicines
