    I've just purchased my little beauty austin cambridge a60. She came with the name Cynthia. Beautiful red interior and the smell from the old english leather when you open the door is phenomenal ❤

    I owned one for a few years in the early 90’s during my late teens - light grey with white stripe auto trans that I had bought from my grandfather. Such a class act everyone enjoyed riding in it. My brother wrote it off into a power pole while having an epileptic fit. He lived, the car died 😢

    My dad had one of these when I was a kid - enormous car. His was grey with the white stripes. Huge rear lights too.

    Sheesh, the exhaust tone on that car is the motoring equivalent of 'dad-dancing'. :)

    Which Farina cars have the big fins, I'm thinking the earlier models and estates? The Wolseley was the first model launched in December 1958, then came the Austin, Morris, Riley and MG Magnette.

    My three year old Cambridge cost £365 and could easily seat six people. Built like a tank with almost the same acceleration.

      Hi Lee, The wheels are as I understand it from a Triumph TR6, the engine is a standard 1622 B series and the rear axle is MGB. There was plans to fit a MGB engine and overdrive gearbox but the car was sold before that happened. Cheers.

    TR6 wheels and a single carb MGA engine. He'll have flames down the side of it next.

    I think these cars would have been looked upon as pretty sensational when they first came out.

  • @stephenwhite9786

    The exhaust sounds good, has it had the MGB engine fitted?

    • @Dazsvintagestuff
      @Dazsvintagestuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stephen, it still has it's original engine although the 1622 cc B series was used in the MGA from June 1961 to July 1962. It does have an MGB rear axle.

    • @Rammstein56
      @Rammstein56 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No the Oxford & Cambridge were there first, however the Peugeot 404 offered a more modern lay out of the same shape, the 404's engine was more modern and better and the suspension was far out.

    • @egpetridis
      @egpetridis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peugeot 404 came out in 1960, and although ADO38 (this one) came out in 1961, it was a facelift of the BMC ADO9 that came out in 1958. In fact, even the similar looking Fiat 1800/2100 (1959) predates the Peugeot 404.
