Squid Games: Fishing for squid on the SIB

Finally there was a weather window to get the Hydrus sib out and try for squid. Obviously the weather got bad pretty quickly and cut the trip short again but at least we caught some squid 1st! The video isn't the usual length due to the wind, rain and poor light but I think we got some good action to show you.
This was the 1st time Kev and I have ever tried for squid off a boat and we learned some lessons and things to improve on next time, but all in all we had a good session in tough conditions. I can't wait to get out on a calm day and do even better!
I used a landing net (until I lost it) but I don't think I would again. We didn't drop any squid and the net just caused more hassle than it was worth.

Nice squid there, I was the lad who asked what colour jig you guys were catching. First cast after your advice and I was in, harsh conditions though, way to cold. Had 2 squid, 1 on a pink shimano jig and the other on a small dexter wedge copy. Along with 2 mackerel

@@fishaunangling yeah, they are slowly getting bigger, near the end of October, squid of around 16cm were following my lrf soft plastics whilst totally ignoring the jigs
