Hello. My name is Sergey, I'm from Russia. I love to watch the show "Wheeler Dealers" on the Discovery channel. Mike Brewer, Edd China and Ant Anstead bought, repaired and sold different cars. I didn't even know many existed. It was very interesting to see unfamiliar models. Recently I learned about another European car "Tempo Matador" produced in 1949-1952. "Tempo Matador" was produced by the German company "Vidal & Sohn Tempo-Werke GmbH", the company was founded in 1924 and produced special equipment for the Wehrmacht. I would very much like to see in your show repair and restoration of "Tempo Matador".
I sold a 1988 911 a few years back before the boom for about 15k- only 70k miles on it. I'm still kicking myself. I think it needed an engine overhaul though as it would consume a quart of oil every 100 miles.
Well Ed, I can say that the Euro bumpers may look nice, but I am doubtful they'll protect as well. I had a case a few years back where a fellow behind me thought I was pulling into traffic, when indeed I was only moving forward a few feet to get a better visual of traffic. WHAM! He hits me pretty hard from behind. After we exchange information and I take my car to a Porsche shop for inspection, I was relieved that there was absolutely no damage whatsoever. Moral of the story? Sacrificing a tiny bit of vanity preserved my lifelong friend. No harm no foul.
This is 10 years ago though and it has the steering wheel on the wrong side. I think you could get a right hand drive one with a broken gearbox pretty cheap in the netherlands aswell not to mention over the border in germany where they have alot of them.
Rhd cars. No one in the world (apart from japan and indonesia, i think) has that configuration... cars are way cheaper because no one wants them... edit: south africa uses rhd
Confirmation that Porsche’s have weak clutches. A friend told me that it was great fun goading Porsche owners into stop light to stop light races, neither the clutch or transmission was up to the job.
hi. your light please. I have a rattle noise at idle when the engine gets hot and the clutch is out. when I press the clutch in no noise. I use swepco 80/90 and I change the trans oil every 10.000. miles. what do you think throw out bearing or input/ main shaft bearing? or anything else?? thanks
@@georgebourdeison1750when gearbox makes noise when stationary input shaft bearings on their way out. You could maybe try a lucas transmission treatment. Had this on my car bothered me but never fixed it, it was like that for 60k kms till i sold it no problems

Rubbish. Ant is just as capable a mechanic, and if anything he's BETTER at demonstrating mechanical principles. I miss seeing Edd too but calling Ant names is ridiculous.
The clutch went in MY Porsche last week so I used the ACTUAL easiest method to replace it....
I bought a new Porsche!!!!!
Bring back Edd and I will watch WD again.

£6,000 for a classic Porsche 911, can you imagine 😄
And a Targa no less.
I wonder if there is a part 2 of this episode to find out if it's a Trans issue or not?
This is an old episode. ...I will buy 10 at that price tmro!

Fantastic, awesome video.
- Good morning, I need parts for my porch.
+ Good morning. You're looking for B&Q down the road, this is the PorschE dealership.
It keeps me thinking that wheeler dealers they can buy cars cheap. Here in the Netherlands those cars are 2x the prices

Filmed before 911 prices exploded.

@@rimmersbryggeri uk was obvious, australia i forgot. My mistake, should have named the two. I think my pount is still valid.

The easiest way to change clutch in a -944:
Go buy another -944 with an OK clutch, use the old one as paperweight.
Better yet, buy an auto one and don't have to worry about a clutch ever,
Easiest way to replace a Porsche clutch.....send it to your local Porsche dealership!

You've probably already figured this out, but based on your symptoms it's almost certainly the throwout bearing.
Gearbox shaft bearings problem, throwout bearing will make noise only when pressed
@@universewonders1 what do you mean. Shaft bearing problem? Or something very bad with the shaft ?
@@georgebourdeison1750when gearbox makes noise when stationary input shaft bearings on their way out. You could maybe try a lucas transmission treatment. Had this on my car bothered me but never fixed it, it was like that for 60k kms till i sold it no problems

You didn’t reface the flywheel, or have the whole assembly balanced. Half way job.
6:10 Edd wasn't going to clean up the flywheel first??
50k miles for a clutch... 😭
Not resurfacing the flywheel is just jackass.
You don't need the blow torch.
It really hurts, when even the mechanic genius Edd isn‘t able to pronounce „Porsche“ in the right way.
Damn that's a nasty looking surface on 5:53. Damn
Yeah was Thinking the same thing no resurfacing the flywheel might as well put the old stuff back on
This man deserved better pay
Htf did you get a 911 for 5 grand?
These are 30-40k over here
7:02 never seen any man sits like that😬
Nice tires :D (1x winter 1x summer)
You cannot attach the license lights to the overiders without connecting the wiring! 😂😂😂
Easy ways not to burn it out
Edd was brought up on Beatles?? What?? Lol 😂
The easiest way to replace a Porsche targa clutch....
Let someone else buy the Porsche.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Didn't find this model in Germany under 30000.
Old 911s shot up in price ridiculously. Back in the early 2000s these things were about as much valuable as a 5 year old civic.
Stupid to use the old ring gear should fit a new one
Throw out barring***

Did anyone else google W. Heath Robinson ? Lol
Edd China is an awesome mechanic.
Ant is no Edd China.
Ant isn’t bad mate. I quite enjoy his work to be honest. I’m sad to see edd go but it’s not ants fault he was hired as a replacement
