Doesn't get any better than this. Thanks so much for posting. The film was made by Goodyear and the audio issued on Phontastic. When I saw Hackett this same year he was still playing this Getzen shepherd's crook cornet, but then he would sound great on a garden hose.
Its very unfortunate that music popularity drifted away from accomplished musicians performing actually talented demanding music too soon more popular less demanding talented musician styles.....For so many now, we are in a minority still enjoying and appreciating what we appreciated than and now as talented musicians playing complex arrangements in great style...
I don't know either but wikipedia for Bob Wilbur sights two records with Bobby, in 1960 and 1967. The apparent age of the musicians (Wilbur looks to be early 30s), the suit and tie styles, and color of video all point to the earlier date.
Bobby's playing is so effortless!

I don't praise Oscar Peterson highly!!! Has no style, only instrumental ability!
@@GeoCoppens what???? Oscar Peterson has tons of chops and tons of style!!!!
@@grantkoeller8911 Oscar Peterson has instrumental ability but no style! He is all derivative!
@@GeoCoppens He is a bebop piano player, just like Bud Powell. Listen to Oscar play behind Charlie Parker!!!
Great Version with subtle melody variation and fantastic tempo, just like I like it, hot and sweet. Chris .in Canberra.

Un grande entre los grandes Bobby !!!!
More clothes probably hit the floor to this guy's music than anybody else in history, thanks to all those Jackie Gleason mood music albums.
I didn’t know Bobby was so prominent on the Gleason Orchestral Moods for Lovers, or whatever those records are called.
One of the most famous intro licks at 3:17 ever, believe its Satchel Mouz's

This is a fantastic recording. I was a bit shocked. Obviously the vocal track was recorded separately. How did you get the studio audio tracks?
