Thank you!!! After watching your video I was able to get the remote to work! You have no idea how grateful and excited I am. In fact, even though I purchased a new battery for the remote, I did not need the new battery at all. Rather, I decided to put the old battery back into the remote and simply pressed the 'learn' button on the garage opener instead. Wow. No need for a new battery. Could it be that my garage door opener was cold or just needed to be 'relearned'? Who knows. Either way, I am back in business. Millions of thanks again for your video which is such a super service to humanity and the community.
It is 2022 and this video has been a life saver. I have the MyQ garage door opener and associated app, but for some reason, it keeps going OFFLINE for my second garage door and we have to get out of the car to manually open it. The house didn't come with any clickers for the garage door openers (but my best friend gave me an extra one they had) and I just ran across this video. Success on the very first try!!! Please don't take this video down, I might need it again!
I have a very old chamberlain 1/2HP, the original remote control stopped working, got me a new remote control on Amazon for 30 box and couldn’t programmed the dammed thing until I saw this video, you save the day my friend, 1000 Thanks! 👌

My opener was manufactured in 1998 and the original home owner left us without a remote.

This video rocks! Thank you so much for posting! It was so helpful to fix my 77 yr old mother's garage door remote. I had no idea that you would need to climb up into the opener to make the connection and then need a menu to figure out how many times to click to program.

Excellent. Easy to understand. Just bought a new car. Had an old Clicker opener with no instructions as to how to program the remote. Your video showed me how. Once it was programmed I followed the new car's instruction as to transferring the opener's signal to a button on my car's rear view mirror. Than you!
Thanks for a great guide! I got a knockoff and the instructions were incorrect and said to press the program button two times and not the garage door opener two times to program. This video saved my bacon!

Thank you kind sir. You saved me $5 on a 3 volt button battery. My remote suddenly stopped working, but I tested the battery with a multimeter and it read 2.97 volts. So I watched this video but didn’t follow the entire instructions. I just needed to know how to reprogram the remote and this video helped. I love you TH-cam, you’re a library of information.

7/17/2022 this video is STILL relevant! Thank you skip to 3:59 mark for the quick rundown once you figure out which garage door opener you have . IE each garagfe door opener has a different amount of times you need to click it for it to code properly.

What if you have a detached garage and you can't get into the garage to hit the button on the opener itself? That's my problem, I can't get into the garage. I think I had a dead battery in the remote so I changed the battery and in doing so I think I accidentally hit the learn button on the remote and now the door won't open at all. I don't know what to do at this point.
You just saved me an extra half hour of trying to read the awful instructions.

Sorry, but you failed to mention about the dip switches. What is the proper position of them if one is using intellicode for a Genie (mine ProGlide2) opener. What is the default position for them on the Clicker to be set? Will they be ignored if Intellicode is used - even if they are in different positions? One of my Clickers are all ON 2-12 and #1 is ON ONLY. Lastly, the instruction page says for Genie, to use either #5 or #6 times to press remote button. So far, no luck.
Mine where set for some old house but programming worked just fine. Looks like they are being ignored.

I have the same garage opener with the purple learn button, and the same remote. I cannot get them to play!
I have my dip switches set the same as yours ,the same as another remote I have that does work.
I hold the program button and the remote light turns on, I push the purple learn button on the garage opener and it lights up, then I press the remote button 3 times (waiting for the led to shut off each time), but the garage opener never responds.

Your other remotes didn't loose connectivity right? Its just that you added new remote to your existing setup and it works now along with other remotes?
