      I doubt that would happen. Chamberlain assumes these old garage door openers have all been recycled already. This video proves them wrong. Look at all the comments below. These old garage door openers are made well apparently if so many are still in use.

      Thanks for watching. I knew I wasn't the only one who had trouble because the manual and website are moderately vague in my opinion. Chamberlain could use a good technical writer.

    Thank you for this! I watched the video by the company and I couldn't get it to work with our older Genie opener. So I took my phone to the garage and followed along with you on this, and it happened just like yours did - didn't work, didn't work, didn't work, then, right when yours worked, mine worked and the garage door opened! I wouldn't have kept trying it so many times if I hadn't seen you do it, so, thank you, my friend.

    I was ready to return the not so seemingly intelligent remote along with a suggestion for Chamberlain to use it as a suppository. Then I came across your video and noted your opener was identical to mine. On the 15th or 16th press my door opener started raising the door.
    Thank you for taking the time to post your video. Chamberlain should be paying you!!!

    • @wadesuhr
      @wadesuhr 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chamberlain is a large company. The fact that they omitted a video that affected this many paying customers is an indicator that they are slightly out of touch with their customers needs.

    I love you! I needed to open a garage door and a gate..both lift master brand using the 2 button clicker you show. The garage worked fine but the gate had dip switches which I matched to existing working remote. Numerous attempts to no avail... watched your video and armed with more determination..I walked thru the steps again and presto on the 8th press of the flashing blue light..it opened the gate!! I can now cancel the serviceman scheduled for tomorrow. Video Probably saved me at least $50 bucks.....thank you so much.

    I cant thank you enough!!! My kids teased me because I moved and the new home had a perfectly fine garage door but the remote openers were very large and old. I bought a set of Chamberlain universal remotes only to find out the opener didn't have a learn button (didnt even know they could come without one). I wasn't about to replace the opener so I just hid the remotes hoping no one noticed. Well tonight (2:00am) I was bored and decided to google to see if there was a way to program the remotes. I was so elated to find your video. I almost gave up after trying 13 times clicking no less than 30x each. I decided to look up the PDF you mentioned. There it was on page 10 (not 8 as mentioned 😁)the answer to my problem. I actually had to reverse the DIP switches on my remote to the opposite of what it had on the opener. Also I was being lazy looking at the old large remote instead of the actual opener. Either way my chamberlain looks the exact opposite of the opener. So where as it was up on the opener its down on the remote, also the numbers are reverse (left to right not right to left) so I was confused. Once I reversed the switches I got it on the 2nd click...I cant thank you enough for posting this video. Had it not been for your video I never would've been able to switch my remotes. I'm sure have the big old remotes don't matter to some but it does to me (no its not just because I'm a female🤷‍♀️). Being in quarantine and not working I simply cant afford too spend money on anything other than necessaries.

    Thanks, Wade -- you saved our butts with this video. I can't find ANY instructions from Chamberlain on how to program an 8 DIP-switch Linear receiver (any DIP switch receiver on an opener without a "Learn" button), and you saved the day.

      I had the same issue. I don't know why Chamberlain buries this information. I realize that non-learning openers are basically obsolete but Chamberlain could simply make a video like I did and post to TH-cam.

    This video is extremely helpful. I was about to go buy a replacement motor (for the ancient Stanley D1000 A07 in my garage) before I found it.
    Just for the sake of clarification, after setting the dip switches to the correct sequence, you push the program button ONCE and the actual remote button numerous times until the motor responds then push the program button again.
    It's anyone's guess as to why the hell this universal remote manufacturer doesn't offer much of any useful information about this relatively simple yet very specific process.

    You had to be closer to the overhead box so when you're programming the remote control it syncs to the remote

    My garage door is a Raynor with dipswitchs. How do I find out how many times to hit the button?

      You won't know how many times to hit the button just like I didn't know. Hit the button until you get a response. But first check the manufacturer website and make sure Raynor brand is supported.
