australian loading lag does hurt your performances there's no doubt about it but you should focus on what you're achieving despite it! really great guesses all around (that crete round was really fun)

12:58 I did not think for a second that it's Bali because there's a mosque on the left where Bali is predominantly hindu, no Balinese-style architecture / roofs, and the road isn't that well-maintained compared to what I usually see in Bali. A difficult round for sure, I'm an Indonesian myself but I don't know my poles and would probably go Sumatra on that, hahah.

Do a lot of ppl you know know a lot abt geography- at least being able to pick out countries on a map? Because I'm slightly concerned how my friend mixed up China and Japan on a map, and when I told my ex that my uncle lives in New Zealand and he asked me if New Zealand is a city in Texas...😅

I'm really surprised you are handicapped by Geogeussr in this way. They should allow you to play on local Australian servers which would then consolidate internationally when the round is over, causing a minor delay between round-end and results (instead of a delay during the round). I'm assuming other net activity is responsive for you?

When you’re playing for a top score and not just somewhere close to the top, what’s the point of hedging? Shouldn’t you go all in with every guess to maximize points if you’re correct? I never understood this…
