I love how you did your decorations. I don't keep a bullet journal/weekly journal but journals for other things, like keeping track of my reading, my crafting and my spending and the only journal that isn't decorated or pretty is my spending journal and I feel the need to decorate it after seeing your video :) I don't know if you are in to christmas music but I just got this feeling that you might like Dark Christmas by Tarja. I love that it gives gothic vibes for christmas :)
I just started using my very first Common Planner and found this video by chance. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now thinking of decorating my planner cover as well. I don't consider myself a witchy person but I AM a recovering christian who is currently feeling a bit lost spiritually. I love your vibe and skimmed your channel and subscribed! Intrigued by the elemental OS video so looking at that one next, thank you for sharing!!
I love your cover! I’m using the undated Commom Planner for the first time. I was in a Hobonichi Cousin for 3 years, but the paper inconsistency of the 2024 edition has been driving me crazy all year. I’ve also used an N1 by Sterling Ink all year & although also Sanzen TRP, the quality has been top notch & consistent. Hoping the same for the Common Planner. I’ll be decorating my cover this weekend. Thanks for the witchy aesthetic inspiration.
I've never done a theme before, and I'm finding it really intimidating. I'm not new to bullet journaling, but I've not been consistent, and I'm hoping that making it pretty well help. One of the reasons that bujo failed for me was drawing out intricate weekly setups, so that's out. Stickers and washi seem like a great way to add low energy deco, and I've got more than enough colorful pens and highlighters. But settling on a theme is proving to be quite difficult.
My advice is to not overthink it. I know planners who change their theme weekly. They would get bored doing something similar all year long like I do. The consistency just takes practice, but the payoff in personal insight is worth the effort. Be kind to yourself.
@bethandbeyond1 it's going to sound dumb, but that didn't even occur to me! The bullet journal content creators I follow are either strictly pen and paper, old school bujo types, or they are very artistic with yearly overarching themes and monthly sub-themes that tie in to the yearly themes. The only one that sort of falls between is Helen from Coffee Monsterz Co. Even then, all of her stuff has the emotis, so it's still cohesive.
Great start Beth, I love themes, it helps me with ideas when I’m out of ideas. After a short rest I’m going to start my new year set up for my health journal. I’m in the SI n1 h and used the back pages to follow all my heart issues since September. Found what works and can’t wait to start in the front of the book.
I’m trying really hard not to be reactive to your combination of witchy vibes with Christian concepts (psalms), because I like your ideas and aesthetic. I’m a pagan, grew up Christian. My issue not yours.
🖤 I knew it would make a few people pause and think. If it helps, the origin word is the Greek “psalmos” for “song sung to harp music.” The original Hebrew word is “Tehillim” for “songs of praise.”

Religious stuff is hard. I get you. ❤
