The simplest way I can explain to why Nas is the best is that while he may not be the GOAT in a certain area, like Biggie is with flow (you could count Nas as the best lyricist tbf, I personally have him behind DOOM) he is the in the top ten or five in every category that is important to a rapper. Lyricism, flow, delivery, influence, catalog, content (things like best songs, different subject matter etc) and style (enjoyability, creativity, uniqueness etc). Nas is one of the best in all of these categories, something which he, and ONLY, he has achieved, which makes him unequivocally the GOAT to me.
@@greedyjoe9677 drake I agree but I don't put lil Wayne in the top 5. I put (in order from best to worst) 1 Nas, 2 Tupac, 3 Eminem, 4 Biggie, 5 Drake (Drake is personal preference, there are many better lyricists but since it's my personal top 5 I put him in that spot). Wayne is top ten MAYBE.

Nas is the greatest rapper by far and what's crazier is it's not even close for anyone else... even this guy on the commentary really didnt do a good job in his narrative... first nas bridges the old school and new school.. he has the most vintage hiphop sound.. he is just not trying to rhyme.. if you need a hiphop poster boy that would be accepted by hiphop fans new n old n ultimately dope lyricists, they will pick nas.. some nas hooks are better than some rappers verses... nas purposely uses beats that are not fly because his strength is in his lyrics which is different from jayz or lil wayne.. they have to have fly beats hence letting me know that they lack in creativity.. they would have never been as big if not for their allies... jayz-beyonce and Wayne-drake.. as a rapper if u were inspired by jayz or wayne, it's not a guarantee that u would be a dope lyricist.. like all these dreads rapper that lil wayne inspired, then u have guys like drake that'll say jayz inspired him.. but if you say nas inspired you then u automatically passing a message that you are nice lyrically and it becomes a subconscious expectation from whoever u telling.. I can write my ass off, I can imagine doing what jayz has done or lil wayne but to suggest to yourself that you can be as good as nas is only a fantasy.. I bet you jayz is jealous of nas catalog... nas is the most complete rapper... flossing, streets, violence, women, family, life, consciousness, teach, beef, every single topic in life he has had a say n hes still creating stuff like car 85 where everyone else has been recycling the same topics bout the hood but somehow he makes up something from the hood no one dared to rap about or even envisioned... hence j Cole quotes that nas wrote the bible.. his creativity puts him far ahead... look ppl if you dont know what the bible is let me explain it.. it is the greatest book of all time and whoever wrote it is the greatest.. everyone has opened it n everyone follows it so to say he wrote the bible is literally saying hes the greatest.. n check it, no one even argued that line.. most greats are humble example messi.. u never hear him say hes the greatest but he knows, I see the same with nas.. hes just focused on his work... I know rappers like papoose that challenge jayz cuz they feel inside that they write better but trust they will never challenge nas... they know his catalogue.. it's hard to beat.. I listen to jayz on hard knock life with kids on the hook, then i listen to i can with kids on the hook.. i just feel if you claim to be the leader. How is it that u have never said any positive song to kids.. even if you a drug dealer.. most leaders I know, even though they into illegal stuff they always look for ways to pass positive messages to kids.. nas fits the profile of a true leader of the genre because he has all kinds of messages for everyone.. eminem can rhyme all day but when u listen to this mans compositions, concepts n creativity, he is different.. til tomorrow I feel eminem still tries to prove.. not this guy, he is just creating for us.. never worried about who is trying to be the best.. it's crazy I love jayz, but he isnt dropping anymore n i dont really miss him, but if nas stops, hip hop would take a huge hit.. most people prefer jayz cuz his level of creativity can be attained, they despise nas cuz that's a bar they ain't touching.. waka flocka flame said it best to me.. i love jayz cuz hes rich but i love nas cuz hes just the best rapper n theres nothing anyone can do about it..
kendrick must learn from Nas if he wants my respect.. But to go at Drake for fame and name is loosing his stats and OVO will kill King K.. dont go that way Kandrick

Nas & Tupac are the greatest of all time and imma break it down for yall like this: (ratings are from 1-10) Creativity? Pac: 9 Nas: 10 Delivery? Pac: 10 Nas: 8 Content? Pac: 9 Nas: 10 Lyrics? Pac: 8 Nas: 10 Flow? Pac: 9 Nas: 8 Discography? Pac:10 Nas:9 Story telling? Pac: 10 Nas: 10 Freestyle? Pac: 8 Nas: 8 Rhetoric? Pac: 8 Nas: 10 Technique? Pac: 8 Nas: 9 Impact? Pac: 11 Nas: 9 Vocab? Pac: 7 Nas: 10 Work ethic? Pac:10 Nas: 8 Charisma? Pac: 11 Nas: 7 Rythm? Pac: 10 Nas: 8 Versatility and conscious? Imma have to say tupac over nas for these two components Also another factor people seem to over look is "SUBSTANCE" Which tupac had no doubt more then any rapper, tupac was also a revolutionary. Now commercial success? I really give no fucks about that because it means nothing to me, if you care about that then you are not really a fan. Pac wins with 9points and nas only has 8 points, this is why pacs considered the definite goat and i Wouldn't argue with them because this is what i look at too but in my opinion they are both the greatest rappers/MC of alltime. Its not all about being the best lyricist and being the best punchliner, no theres many aspects.
This ain't never been about lyricism and flow to me, that's great and all but that ain't what's the best, you can have the greatest lyrics and rhymes but if it don't got a good beat it ain't shit, you gotta value production as well, it's why I love the rap producers like DJ Quik and especially Dr. Dre, The Chronic album forever broke the ground with the best sonics in all it's tracks, defined a whole sound for Los Angeles, production be as important as the lyrics, that's only half of the whole cake.
Your comment from 0:52 to 1:01 is untrue, there are 6 metrics of hip-hop music: Technical- Rhyme schemes & flows. Objective- Wordplay. Semi-subjective- Instrumental & lyrical content. Subjective- Catchy Chorus. This is why arguments over the greatest rappers of all time continue until the cows come home.

He also copied Nas track I GAVE YOU POWER and made a song out of that track. ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND. Even J Cole idolize Nas , Nas catalog is too much to handle for any Rapper in history. Illmatic, it was written, Stillmatic, Magic, , I am....God's son, Life is Good , King's Deceased 2 , and 1 etc. Too many CLASSIC ALBUMS. Then his flow ,Lyrics, creativity, punchlines, metaphors, who the fuck can come out with tracks like ..I GAVE YOU POWER, REWIND, UNDYING LOVE, etc.etc.etc...
And now w kd1,2 and magic and hes even further proven his title
kendrick must learn from Nas if he wants my respect.. But to go at Drake for fame and name is loosing his stats and OVO will kill King K.. dont go that way Kandrick
kendrick destroyed drake, the beef is dead alr
What do you think about 'Kings Desease' my brother?
Q.B. King Nasir Jones da G.O.A.T.!!...Shout out to the 41st side and my fam on 40th n Vernon!! ✊

Charisma? Pac: 11 Nas: 7
Rythm? Pac: 10 Nas: 8
Versatility and conscious? Imma have to say tupac over nas for these two components
Also another factor people seem to over look is "SUBSTANCE" Which tupac had no doubt more then any rapper, tupac was also a revolutionary.
Extremely valid point
Fuck outta here with this nonsense Nas is a much better mc

@@zarifirzam8701 pac is average very basic Nas lyriscm is like extreme engineering
I thought he was all races combined to one man
Nas be the poet, got Medusa, gave her shotguns in hell
From the bars he exhale, it aint hard to tell
i liked the video before it started playing
Nas is the Terrance Crawford of rap
There are only 5 rappers I would accept as a answer for who's the GOAT. Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, Black Thought and Kanye West.
No Eminem? Maybe coz he is W-H-I-T-E.... OKAY...
@@NikhilSingh-oe6iq No, because he doesn't have a 10/10, he hasnt released good music for a good while and he's super inconsistent. I'm white myself why would I not include someone just cus they're white lol?
@@BusterBossJR tbh. I consider his first three albums (after infinite) as 10/10 just my opinion.....those are classics. I know he kinda went downhill after 2013 but I still fw all his music because he is my fav rapper. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion, your list is great but I would have added Em instead of Ye and Kendrick (I love them too! 👍🏻)
@@BusterBossJR also Pac.
@@BusterBossJR and the white thing just came out of anger, no disrespect. I have seen a lot of people hatin on him jus coz he is white (yeah, even after 21 years)....
ask a bunch of "rap fans" the rappers pre 2005 they know i bet only like 30% will say nas in that last . im talking about the ones that listen to rich kidd etc which is sad not much simple rap fans know him but they know rappers like biggie pac
Cause he the best to ever did it ?
eminem murdered him on his own sh!t
Nobody else can rap from the perspective of a gun or make a song backwards. That's my arguement
Queensbridge..
Nas is the king of hiphop
Nas is the greatest ever not buddy can't be compared with him he is on other level he open the way for all those rapers that think they are the best shut up and Lear from the King ever
Nas should be #1 or #2 . And this is coming from someone who been listening to Hip hop even before Nas started Rapping. ( 1985) we're talking about PURE HIP HOP here, the essence of the culture. No trap music. Melody rap or mumble rap. This is not about Bias ( I like this rapper , that's why he's the #1 stuff) NO ONE. I mean NO ONE Can compare to Nas when it comes to HIP HOP. Jay z idolize Nas. 2pac was a Fan of Nas. By the way when he was gunned down. IT WAS WRITTEN was the album he was listening to. He also copied Nas track I GAVE YOU POWER and made a song out of that track. ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND. Even J Cole idolize Nas ,
Nas catalog is too much to handle for any Rapper in history. I had to recognize and accept the fact that he's In Michael Jordan Level, when it comes to HIP HOP.

2pac is better then Nas.. if you poll most of the world nas loses period.. People post these videos saying Nas, Biggie , Jayz.. But if you poll the world they say pac or Eminem being though some start listening to Eminem growing up
@@itiswhatitis8638
You don't know what the heck you're talking about son, I've been listening to Hip Hop from day 1, since Run DMC. And you're totally wrong, real hip hop heads know, Nobody is on Nas level, you're tripping, Start to study the culture a little bit better
@@kamelody7285 seriously, you think the world 🌎 going say Nas better the 2pac and Eminem? Stop it..
Shit no question now?
