You can pull the boat to the para-anchor for retrieval. Although, it’s a good idea to have at least a short trip line to prevent the canopy from sinking under the boat. Hard to haul up a 12 ft. parachute full of water sitting directly under the boat. Trip Lines are required by race organizers.
Thanks for reply,,,,, If it were under my boat id probably back away from it to get it up a tad, then haul in.. Don't like the idea of a trip,,,,, just another way of snuffing the chute when you need it most if it starts twisting up... I never set a trip when I used a para on my 38ft trimaran... That was only in practice drills though...
Our complete para-anchor setup video from 2003 shows how to recover a para-anchor without a trip line: th-cam.com/video/DW3JnOXBkkw/w-d-xo.html. Fiorentino's research team has never experienced any trip line tangles around the Fiorentino para-anchor....likely because of our patented chute design. Either way, it's personal preference whether to use a trip line or not. Thank you for your helpful thoughts.
